Season 1 Episode 7

Aired Monday 9:00 PM Aug 29, 2006 on Syfy

  • Trivia

    • Trivia: The electronic spying fly that Fargo is using is actually real technology. A good description of it was given by Dan Brown in the book Deception Point.

    • Trivia: The two baseball teams are called Protons and Neutrons, Protons (positive electric charge) and Neutrons (neutral electric charge) are the two particles, called hadrons, constituting the "atomic nucleus" of every atom, while a third particle, the Electron (negative electric charge), constitutes the "electron cloud" surrounding the nucleus.

    • Trivia: Methylphenidate Hydrochloride is a real drug that is marketed under the name Ritalin (among others). It is widely used for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and there are some current theories that suggest it may have an effect on children with autism as the two conditions are thought to be related.

    • Nitpick: At the beginning of the episode, during the town meeting, Dylan's hand-device is blank in one scene.

  • Quotes

    • Carter: Where's Dylan?
Zoe: It was one kiss during homeroom, relax.
Carter: Okay, I'll freak out about that later.

    • Carter: (regarding Zoe's clothing) The fact that you call a tank-top with a belt a dress… All the wrong I need.
Zoe: Well you know, it's not like I'm wearing a thong under it.

    • Carter: Put the gun down, Dylan.
Dylan: Why? So I can go to jail for the rest of my life?
      Zoe: Damn straight!
      Carter: Not helping!

    • Dylan: Everyone's got their own way of standing out, like yelling "thong" in a crowded restaurant.
      Zoe: Too much?
Dylan: Ah, it got my attention.
Zoe: Yeah, well, thongs get everyone's attention.

    • Carter: Okay, let's say someone literally is speed-freaking. What signs would I look for?
Henry: Besides running at 600 miles an hour?

    • Carter: Uh, S.A.R.A.H., we need to talk about increasing security.
      S.A.R.A.H.: Against burglars?
      Carter: Against boys.

    • Dylan: (to Zoe) Wow, you guys live in a hole. I mean, it's a nice hole…it's very, uh, very post-modern Armageddon.

    • Allison: (after finding out that Kevin's getting the placebo in the drug trial) That can't…I mean…No, he has been so different since he started that trial.
Stark: Because you're different. Any progress that Kevin has made is because of his relationship with you, not because of any drug.

    • Carter: Henry, do you ever actually work on cars?
Henry: Sometimes, when it gets slow, yeah.

    • Carter: Hey, Jo, do you have a knife? (Jo opens a pocket to reveal three knives, in varying lengths) Ask a stupid question...

    • (Stark and Carter threaten each other, then:)
Stark: Sheriff, we're grown men. I'd like to think we're more evolved than that.
      Carter: Well, you overestimate me!

    • Jo: How'd you get here so fast?
Taggart: Heard you on my scanner.
Jo: And what, you were just passing by in full cammies and night vision goggles?
      Taggart: Yeah.
      Jo: Nice!

    • Carter: (to Zoe) Have a good day at school. Try not to commit any felonies.

    • Fargo: (to team members) Okay guys. Our deadline is now tomorrow. So, uh, we need to step it up, we need to get serious, but mostly we need to cheat.

    • Henry: He's been juicing.
      Carter: On what, rocket fuel?

    • Stark: Maybe you should question them at some point.
Carter: Do I tell you how to do your job?
Stark: No, but that is an amusing idea.

    • Zoe: Good God, it's nerdvana.

    • Carter: There's gotta be something we can do.
Jo: Stark's head honcho up at Global Dynamics. When he says, "jump", everyone else says, "what trajectory?"

    • Carter: Hey Allison, it's, uh, Carter. Um, I need a favor.
Allison: Ooh! I thought you'd never ask. Listen, I want to play first base; they're always putting me in right field...

    • (to Allison, after she's brought Stark to the accident scene)
Carter: You are so stuck in right field!

    • (Zoe wants to be alone with her new friend)
Carter: I'm just gonna be in the next room.
      Dylan: Sure.
Carter: ...I have a gun, you know that, right?
      Zoe: Dad!
      Carter: It's loaded.
      Zoe: Leave!
      Carter: I'm just saying.
      Zoe: Now!
Carter: I'm a pretty good shot.

    • Carter: Have these guys submit to a drug test!
Stark: Do you have evidence that they're taking something illegal?
Carter: Well illegal, no, but that body was pumped with something from your lab. And whoever gave it to him, is looking at possible murder charge.
Stark: Assuming that's true, um, how do you know anybody else is taking it?
      Carter: I have my reasons.
      Stark: I'm listening...
Carter: These guys... are eating way too much.

    • (Carter is looking at Henry's test dummy)
Carter: Why's it look like me?
      Henry: It's generic.
