For the first time in Eurovision history there will be two semi-finals taking place before the final. Consequently, there are more countries featured than ever before, with a total of 43 particpating countries. Each semi-final will have 19 particpants, whereby the top 9 from the tele-voting will progress to the final. The highest ranking unselected country, according to a panel of judges, will also progress to the final. Unlike previous years when the previous year's top ten countries automatically made it to the final, this year it is only last year's winning nation (Serbia), along with the Big Four countries (United Kingdom, France, Germany and Spain). The 19 nations in the first semi-final in performance order are Iceland, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Lithuania, Albania, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belarus, Latvia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Georgia, Hungary, Malta, Cyprus, F.Y.R Macedonia and Portugal.moreless
