Everyone finds out that Donovan was a pop star in England when a rapper asks his permission to sample one of his hits; then Shelly tries to impress the man with her raps. Rita and Janie's attempt to write a romance novel has a hot conclusion.

Nick finally finds a woman he wants to date exclusively, only to have her tell him she's married. Meanwhile, Shelly discovers that Rita thinks her apartment is haunted.

When J.T. fails an exam because of a stupid mistake, his overbearing mother tries to persuade the professor to give J.T. a retest; and Marty considers becoming a professional bowler. Shelly tries to help Rita set up her new apartment.

The success of DivaStyle brings big bonus checks to the ladies, but also brings big problems for Shelly when she goes on a wild shopping spree. Janie learns her husband wants to quit his job. J.T. turns to Nick for a money loan to cover his medical school expenses.

Shelly believes she's unfit to ever be a mother when Janie brings her cousin's infant to DivaStyle and Shelly drops the child. Meanwhile, Nick plays for an all-gay basketball team, but hurts his teammates with his insensitivity.

J.T.'s new girlfriend Rochelle is threatened by his former relationship with Shelly and his friends, so she demands that J.T. choose between her and his friends. Janie decides to change her outlook and attitude when one of the waitresses mistakes her for Shelly's mother.

Janie overhears Marty's flattering comments about Shelly and becomes convinced he still has an interest in her. She then accuses Shelly of trying to steal her man. Meanwhile, J.T. ignores his studies to go out partying with Donovan, and he pays the price.

Rita hires a firm to produce DivaStyle's new line, but the women get unwanted press when it comes out the company is a sweatshop. Donovan convinces Nick and J.T. to help him sell make-up.

Janie spills some of the gang's secrets on a live radio show with Tom Joyner, affecting the budding relationship between Rita and Nick. Meanwhile, Shelly is in hot water with J.T.

Shelly and Janie select a hot young model to represent the new DivaStyle line, and discover that Rita is modeling for a rival brand. Meanwhile, Nick is tempted by J.T.'s study partner.

Rita wants to be the face of DivaStyle, but Shelly and Janie oppose the idea, so Rita threatens to leave their partnership. Meanwhile, Donovan gets Nick hooked on makeup for men.

A severe storm makes the gang confront issues concerning greed and faith: Shelly squabbles with Janie over her lottery winnings, while Nick has a religious experience.

Rita and Janie, realizing that Shelly ignores their creative input in DivaStyle, decide to start their own line of items, which causes a fierce competition between the women. J.T. realizes medical school isn't as easy as he thought it would be. Nick regrets dating a co-worker.

An excited Shelly starts planning her wedding to J.T., but an unexpected visit from her mother might make her rethink the decision she made. Meanwhile, J.T. gets accepted to medical school. Donovan finds a way to stay in the U.S. as a legal citizen.

Shelly has to decide between two marriage proposals, by J.T. and Grant. Donovan, who skipped his flight back to England, is now living as an illegal citizen and he has to decide what to do with his life.

Shelly questions her relationship when Grant takes her to a surprising camping trip. Rita and Janie try to spend more time with Donovan, but their attempt is put aback when Nick and he get invited to a swimsuit model party. Meanwhile, J.T. decides to confess his love to Shelly.

Shelly tries to impress Grant by cooking dinner for him, but she then decides to enlist her friends to help her in the kitchen. J.T. and Nick's year-old satellite radio stops working, so they turn to a variety of customer service reps based in India.

Nick and J.T. suspect Donovan keeping a secret from them. Rita and Shelly discover that Janie had a fling with Troy and now it's time for them to teach Janie that she can't give the lectures on right and wrong anymore.

Shelley agrees to a "mercy date" when a younger man named Grant asks her out, but the evening turns into a romantic attraction. Nick declares Z Lounge's Ladies Night discriminatory and demands that Donovan give the guys equal attention at the club.

When Shelly and Rita's stepmother Lucy fight, it is up to Shelly to swallow her pride and be the first one to apologize, to guarantee Rita getting some financial help. Nick tries to make a pass at Shelly when he learns J.T. slept with his ex-girlfriend in college.

When a potential wheelchair buyer accidentally catches her using a handicapped parking spot, Shelly decides to pretend being disabled. Nick and J.T. put up house rules for their new roommate, Rita.

Donovan starts dating an older woman named Rebecca and everything is going fine until he attempts to set Nick and J.T. up with her friends. Rita and Shelly compete in a martial arts class after Rita turns out to be more adept.

Shelly and the girls enter a lively debate when Shelly considers getting implants. J.T. and Donovan are determined to fix Nick's annoying habit of never picking up a check.

Shelly and the girls are shocked when Robert Verdi slams their dress worn by celebrity Brooke Burke on air, and it's obvious that their promotional opportunity turned into a nightmare. Nick regrets taking piano lessons from Frances.

The gang reminisces about their dating past when Shelly breaks the rules and brings a date to the New Year's Eve. J.T. reminisces about Diana, Donovan and Rita about Jackson and Shannon. Then later, the night takes a surprising turn.

Janie has to make peace between Shelly and Rita, who are competing for the affections of a charming bachelor with a yacht. J.T. decides to take a new direction in meeting a woman who is waiting to meet "her special guy."

J.T. can't hide his jealousy when Shelly starts dating a buff boxer named Adrian. Shelly fears she might end up with Rita as her roommate, so she decides to make up Janie and Rita, who are having hard time living together.

A homeless Rita moves in with Janie and they discover a new friendship, Shelly-less. J.T. wants to watch a new sports package added to his and Nick's cable, but he refuses to pay for it since Nick, who took it, didn't ask him about it.

An injured Shelly is forced to ask J.T. for some medical advice, but when Shelly is asked out by a handsome doctor, a jealous J.T. decides to sabotage Shelly's plans. Donovan challenges Nick to become a manager of the Z Lounge for one night.

Shelly and J.T. finally sit down and discuss their rocky relationship, and just as Shelly thinks they got over the hard part, she soon learns that J.T. has a whole another idea of compromise. Nick tries to pretend that Donovan and Rita's new attraction doesn't bother him.

J.T. has to admit to Shelly that she is not the type of girl he plans to marry some day after the topless video incident. Donovan and Rita continue trying to avoid what happened between them.

The women at DivaStyle accidentally accept a client who turns out to be a pimp, Rodney P. When Shelly refuses to do business with him, Rodney calls in his lawyers, Sugar-Free and Comfort. Meanwhile, Rodney's colleagues take his "discrimination" fight to the streets by picketing outside the store.

When Shelly's college friend April comes for a visit in Miami, Shelly ends up spending the entire night party crashing, which causes a fight with Janie and Rita because they were ditched outside a club with Jadakiss and his posse. J.T. volunteers to entertain the Z Lounge as a D.J.

Shelly's successful, fun-loving sister, Simone, comes for a visit, and Shelly frustratingly finds herself slipping back into the role of over-shadowed little sister as Simone starts taking the limelight.

After drinking his apple juice, shattering his favorite beer mug and walking in on him shadowboxing naked, Nick tells Shelly that she has overstayed her welcome at their townhouse, placing J.T. in the middle of a showdown between his best friend and his girlfriend.

J.T. gets fed up with the long hours Shelly is working during the holidays, so his mother decides to set him up with another woman; Donovan's ex-girlfriend visits.

J.T.'s old flame comes to town so Shelly feels she must up her game in order to keep her man from being tempted away.

J.T. is upset when Shelly discusses details of his bedroom antics with her gal pals, who disclose them to Missy Elliott (playing herself) in a nightclub during a celebration for Janie.

When J.T.'s mother walks in on him and Shelly in bed, Shelly fears their romance will sour unless she can win his mother's acceptance and respect, and Rita breaks up with her "perfect man" when their sexual role-playing typecasts her as the submissive one.

J.T. gives up taking salsa lessons, but Shelly continues with a handsome instructor; Nick helps Rita move into a studio apartment.

Shelly ponders whether she and J.T. are an item after seeing him with another woman at Rita's party; Nick's girlfriend is wearing him out; Rita learns the truth about her financial state. Julio Iglesias Jr. has a cameo.
