    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (5)

      • It's interesting that Lauren Frost (Ruby) toured with Barbara Streisand and her accent, which is incredibly Long Island, is almost exactly the same as hers. Streisand's nickname is Babs...and here we see that Ruby's mother is also Babs.

      • This is the first episode in which we hear Ruby's last name. It's Mendel, or maybe Mendell, accent on the second syllable. Also it's the first time we see either of her parents (her mom Babs). The same is true for Monique (last name: Taylor; mother: Tanya).

      • Louis is introduced as Louis "Sulphur Toes" Stevens at the radio station contest.

      • How could they get wanted pictures of Louis and Chives if they weren't caught by the bowling guy?

      • The sign outside the bowling alley reads "Landpark Bowl," but the arm on the pin-setting equipment says "Mission Hills Bowl" on it.

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Steve Stevens: Oh, Ren, I didn't get a chance to talk to you. How was mother/daughter bowling night?
Ren: Well, Mom can't bowl to save her life.
Steve Stevens: Yeah, sorry to here that. Oh, um, why is there an English man doing laundry in our house?
Ren: Oh, Chives? He works for Louis.

      • Tawni: Twitty, why are you dressed like sushi?
Twitty: I'm a stinkin' bowling pin!!

      • Chives: Master Louis requests your immidiate departure.
Beans: Why don't you speak English?

      • Louis: Beans, get out of my house, OK?
Beans: My mom said I could stay as long as I want.
Louis: Well Beans, doesn't that tell ya somethin'?

      • Eileen Stevens: OK girls, we're ready to play bowling!

      • Ren: Come on, don't you guys wanna raise money for the school?
Ruby: That's easy for you to say. Your mom's not gonna show up in fluorescent hip-huggers!

    • NOTES (3)

      • Character with no lines: The bowling alley employee who chases Louis and Chives. Actually he does have a line or two, but they are dubbed in, hence he's not listed in the credits.

      • The music playing when Louis is being served a corn dog by Chives is an adaptation of the Canon in D Major by 17th-century German composer Johann Pachelbel. This piece of music enjoyed a great resurgence in popularity in the latter part of the 20th century.

      • This marks executive producer Dennis Rinsler's directing debut.
