Episode Summary

EDIT
After returning from New York feeling lost and confused and needing Amy for support, Ephram considers his options in the wake of Madison's (Sarah Lancaster, who does not appear in this episode) life-altering revelation. Ephram tries to find the baby by going to Child Services Office, but finds out that Madison signed the adoption papers with "father unknown" and terminating the parent-child relationship with "Unknown Birth Father" leaving Ephram completely crushed.

Amy tries to get Ephram another audition at Julliard after he missed his first appointment due to the emergency with Madison and the baby, but it doesn't go well. Meanwhile, a tired Andy is a little stunned upon learning the extent of Nina's feelings for Jake and with a little encouragement from her friend Bright, Hannah decides to go on a date with a smitten Topher (guest-star Lukas Behnken).moreless

I love Everwood and this is exactly why this is my favorite episode. Everybody ends up with who they are supposed to be with. Andy and Nina get engaged and Ephram and Amy get back together which i have been waiting forever for. Amy and Ephram are my favorite characters and my favorite couple. They just have had a great connection ever since Collin pased away. Whenever Amy needed a shoulder to cry on Ephram was there. Plus Im glad he dumped Stepanie because i didnt like her at all. This is my favorite show and i wish they did a fifth season but im glad they did a happy ending (well not for stepanie or jake). im going to miss it when its over but Everwood will always live in my heart and I will never forget the show that taught me so much and like i said Everwood will always live on in the mind, heart, and spirit that is Everwood.moreless
  • Andy and Ephram are not on speaking terms, Amy doesn't seem happy with the current situation and Amy and Topher! Very interesting episode!

I thought this was a good episode.

No confrontation of Ephram and Andy through the entire episode, until the end. That was really making you wonder if they were going to talk at all this episode.

Really sad that Amy and Ephram broke up since Amy only thought she did wwhat was best for him, of course Andy did the same too, so it was to be expected that Ephram wasn't going to forgive her for not telling him about Madison's pregnancy.

Also the Bright/Hannah scenes very interesting to watch ! I like those two together :)

And I really thought Vivienne Cardone (delia) was really good in this episode. Also I have to say Amy (Emily VanCamp) was really good too.

A really good episode which was written very nice.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Andy: You have to understand something, honey - that fair doesn't always mean equal. Ephram's older and it's very different. And I promise you that when you become a teenager, you'll get the same exact treatment.
Delia: So I'll get an ugly car too.
Andy: Well, you gotta take the bad with the good.

    • Bright: Hannah, if you say 'thank you' or 'sorry' one more time, I think I'm gonna have to kill myself.
      Hannah: Sorry.

    • Bright: Problems?
Hannah: Just a little frustrated with God right now. I mean, He talks to Joan of Arcadia, like, five times a week. Tells her to go out for cheerleading. My problem is way bigger, and I can't even get His attention.

    • Hannah: I owe God some serious vegetables.

  • NOTES (5)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Hannah: Maybe I'm like that person that didn't realise that god sent him the boat or the helicopter
The helicopter and god story that Hannah mentions is an old story that goes like this:

There once was a man who lived on a farm near a river.
The winds and storms came and the river began to over flow it's banks. As the waters got higher and higher, the man prayed: Dear God, save me.
The water got so high the man had to sit on the roof
of his house. A rowboat went by and the rescuers begged the man to get in to the boat.
He said: Go away, god will save me!, and kept praying.
A helicopter flew over and let down a rope, but still the
man said: Go away, god will save me!, and kept on praying.
Finally the water became so high it swept the man away and he drowned.
In Heaven, the man furiously asked God: Why didn't you save me?
God said: What are you talking about? I sent both a boat and a helicopter!

The moral of the story is, like Hannah says, that people don't realise god is trying to help them, because the help doesn't come in the form they were expecting.

    • Hannah: I mean, he talks to Joan of Arcadia like five times a week, tells her to go out for cheerleading.

Joan of Arcadia is a show where a young girl about Hannah's age, named Joan, frequently talks to God.. in person. The episode in question where Joan is told to start cheerleading is called: 'Bringeth It On'.
