    • TRIVIA (7)

      • Goof: Ephram can be seen getting out of his car two times: first when he arrives and parks in front of the shop where Amy is in and then when she calls him and he picks up his cell phone.

      • Andy's office is at 124 Main St.
Madison's address is 336 Willow Lane, Denver 80113, where she lives with Mindy.
Hal Sr. worked on Jake's father's knee, which indicates that the Hartmans were originally from Everwood. Hal opened his practice in 1948.
Madison's father left the family when she was younger, and after that her mother became very religious.
        Jake is a general practitioner.

      • Goof: When Amy and Ephram sit together on the stairs in her house to talk about why Ephram has been distant with her, the camera shifts from looking at Ephram to looking at Amy many times. When the camera is on Amy, there is a hair in her face. When the camera is on Ephram the hair is not there. Yet, she does not move the hair until the middle of the scene.

      • Goof: When Ephram is on the plane back from New York he gets a text message from Amy and the guy next to him is talking on his cellphone. Yet cellphones are strictly prohibited on airplane flights because they interfere with the equipment on board.

Actually, cell phones are banned because of a 'better safe than sorry' approach - Ephram and the passenger are likely aware and simply disregarded this policy.

      • Goof: When Ephram is practicing on his own, he has a greyish tshirt on. However, when Dr. Brown walks in, Ephram has a blue t-shirt on.

      • Goof: When Andy first attempts to open Madison's letter, he only opens it half way. When he returns to open the letter after talking to Ephram, the envelope is torn enough for him to pull the letter out.

      • Goof: When Ephram pulls his evaluation out of his pocket to hand to Amy, he starts to unfold it, but when you see Amy take it from Ephram, it is still folded and then when you see Amy from the top of the stairwell, it is unfolded.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Delia: Dad?
        Andy: What?
        Delia: Dr. Abbot is outside.
Andy: Now!? What does he want?
Delia: I don't know, but he's wearing slippers

      • Ephram: I still can't believe my dad let you pick me up instead of him. How did you swing that?
Amy: It wasn't that hard actually, we did quite a lot of bonding over the summer.
Ephram: Wha... you bonded with my father?! Why?
Amy: Well he's a lot funnier than you give him credit for and he person in town that didn't mind me talking about you 24/7
Ephram: This is way too weird to process. I am picturing you and my dad splitting a coke at mama joys and it's freaking me out.
        Amy: One coke. Two straws.
        Ephram: Stop it.

      • Amy: (after she sees Ephram) Oh my God, he's here how weird is that? It's like we're always in the same place, it's like fate or something.
Rose: Well, it could be that there's only one Main Street in Everwood but fate is nice too.

      • Andy: Your moose is my moose.

      • Ephram: Delia was wearing a dress.
Andy: Yeah, I know. It's weird.

      • Harold: Are you implying that I'm wooden?
Andy: Wooden? You are a 2-by-4!

      • Harold: You're 12 years old!
        Jake: You're sweet.

    • NOTES (10)

    • ALLUSIONS (5)

      • Episode title: For Every Action ... Together with the title of the next episode (... There is a Reaction) it paraphrases Newton's Third Law of Motion: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

      • Delia: "Oh, and if you see Lindsay Lohan, can you please get her autograph for me? Bernice says she lives in New York part time, and you'll probably see her."
An award-winning young actress, Lindsay Lohan has appeared in "The Parent Trap," "Freaky Friday," "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen," and "Mean Girls."

      • Ephram: "... I can't sit down to The Brady Bunch family dinners with Nina."
One of the most popular family sitcoms of all time, The Brady Bunch portrayed a single dad with three sons who marries a single mom with three daughters. The first season revolved mainly around the family adjusting to living together. The following seasons then dealt with the six kids growing up and going through puberty and childhood adolescence.

      • Doctor Jake Hanson: "I want to be around real people, who are grounded, who don't need to wear kabbalah bracelets in order to feel like they're connected to something."
Red string kabbalah bracelets are said to ward off the evil eye and bring good luck to its wearers. The pop diva Madonna was first to usher the bracelet into the mainstream, as part of her self-professed devotion to the study of kabbalah, an ancient form of Jewish mysticism.

      • Andy: MapQuest is supposed to be sending me to Denver, but I think it's trying to send me to ... Bob Denver.
MapQuest is a popular web site that maps out trips to any destination. Bob Denver starred on TV as beatnik Maynard G. Krebs in "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" (1959-1963), and, more famously, as Gilligan in "Gilligan's Island" (1964-1967).
