I'm giving the series finale of Everwood a 10 because the show is a 10. The finale. Not so much. I'm sure most will disagree but I liked the series finale but didn't love it . I liked how the couples got together in the end (never cared for Andy with Nina but whatever) I liked how Jake broke it off with her first. I loved that Amy and Ephram got together. Their screen time together was a bit shafted but the endleess -albeit funny- rants about Amy loving Ephram. Loved the scene with Amy and her "Yea women" and the ferris wheel. For once Amy came to him. The lines were well written and funny. All the characters have grown so much and they showed that. I liked that they remembered the horse that Andy promised Delia and his goodbye to Julia. The Bat Mitzvah scenes were great.

I didn't liked however, the baby storyline. Why do they feel that Rose and Harold need to have a baby? That baby's poor mother and we get no hint as to if she is found or not.And when in this day and age do people really leave babies on the doorstop? Harold's like a father to her yet Amy has no idea who she is? Way to much time wasted on the ring. They really should of flashforward to the future I think that would of been a more satsfying end. Have Irv state in a voice over what happend to everyone like how they seemed to be setting it up in the pilot. No surprises and that is not like Everwood at all. Still, good episode but not amazing. Maybe it's because I don't want to say goodbye.moreless
  • Quality television at its finest. Why is there no room at the CW for this show?

I guess I'm like Harold, a true romantic at heart, because I loved how the series was wrapped up in a nice little bow. I cried when Andy visited Julia for the last time and gave his monologue about how he's changed over the past four years and how he's going to move on with Nina, whom he loves.

I loved Amy's grand gesture with the ferris wheel, and cried when Ephram told Amy she was The One. And although Bright was El Jerko to Hannah by cheating on her, I'm glad that he told her to go to Notre Dame and that he would always be there for her. I'm also glad that she decided to stay in Colorado.

It was nice that they even had a happy ending for Delia, with the horse that Andy had promised her when they had originally moved there. And even though it was kinda shady of Harold's patient to just leave her baby, I'm glad that Rose and Harold will be able to raise another child.

I was heartbroken for Edna when Irv died, and I can see how she might want to be alone for a while. For some reason Edna deciding to stay with Harold didn't sit right with me. Maybe it's because I can relate to Edna better than Harold. I mean I know he loves her and wants to take care of her and be there for her, but sometimes he can be too overbearing and way too bossy.

I'm upset that the CW didn't pick up Everwood, yet renewed 7th Heaven (the show that just needs to die already). On the other hand, it looks like they only have 2 hour blocks of prime time on most nights. I'm sure they could have squeezed Everwood in somewhere. I think they're even having reruns of certain shows. But what hurt the most was watching the SERIES FINALE of the show that will not be on the CW while they run commercials for the new channel that let Everwood fans down. :( I am not getting ready for the CW... While most people watch other shows on the WB and UPN, I do not so I will have no problem boycotting the CW.moreless
  • What a great finale!excellant family TV.

How can this new network even think about dropping Everwood? This is by far one of the best family shows on the tube.My family and I feel cheated we have looked forward to Everwood each week. The writers did a great job on its finale, but this show had many more story lines.Treat Williams and Company will be missed next season.I fear this new network has cut its nose of to spite its face.I speak for the water cooler crowd when I say there are very few shows on this network that will be watched by us next season, much less talked about tomorrow.moreless
  • A perfect ending.

A bittersweet goodbye to one of the best written shows on television.

Sweat because, while I do love the show, I felt the relationships had run their course and was looking forward to seeing the outcome of the stroylines.

Bitter because Everwood gets the axe and 7th Heaven get picked up. Who made this genius call?? There was better writing in one half hour of Everwood than in a whole season of 7th. (And by the way, if 7th Heaven is a show about a religious family, how come all their kids are getting knocked up?)

Anyway back to the show at hand. They tied up every question we had beautifully. And while I really thought Madison was going to pop up, they gave us just about everything else that we wanted to see.

    Goodbye Everwood.moreless
  • They gave us what we wanted

Okay, it's a very good series and for the life of me I can't understand why they axed it.

It was a very nice conclusion and I think the writers gave us just what we wanted.

Only trouble I have is with Nina and Andy.

She said to Jake that she loved him more than Andy and only a few days later she agrees to marry Andy.

Don't get me wrong, I wished for this as much as the next guy, but something just doesn't add up.

Then the next trouble I have is with the baby thing.

So they can't adopt an African child because of Rose's cancer, but they can adopt this baby?

    makes no sense.

Okay, maybe I'm being picky, but that's just me.

    Loved it anywaymoreless
