Goof: Ephram can be seen hopping two times on his bike after the argument he has with Bright. The same scene is repeated twice.
In My Funny Valentine (episode 16), Colin is clearly in choir with Ephram and Amy. But in The Miracle of Everwood he clearly is not. He comes into the room during rehearsal, interrupting the choir while they are singing, to take Amy away... with no excuse but to play hooky. However, the choir director certainly recognizes who he is. She stops the group when he comes in, and calls him by name. Of course, by now, due to the situation of his coma and recovery, the whole school knows who Colin is, not just teachers who had him in class.
Delia: You have to stop following me around, Arnie.
Arnie: I can't. I decided. You're my girlfriend.
Delia: I am not.
Arnie: I decided.
Delia: Do I have to do anything? (Arnie nods no) Okay, but only if you do everything I tell you.
Ephram: (About choir teacher) She never gets tired.
Amy: I know. She doesn't even drink coffee. She's like an X-file.
Ephram: Explain to me how this is an elective when nobody wants to be here.
Andy: Some magazine is sending a guy to interview me.
Harold: I wouldn't get too excited. It's hardly rare for some local birdcage liner to want to fill the space between the Friday crossword and the tuna frittata recipe with whatever profile they can muster. So what rag is selling ad space on your dime?
Andy: New York Magazine.
Narration during prologue: Forget for a minute what the real world looks like, forget what you know, sometimes you need to believe in what isn't exactly there. A daydream of better nights. A storybook fantasy where life is ordered and consistent and tales get awfully exciting before they wrap up nicely for all involved. Who are we to enforce reality? After all, you never know when the good angel of fortune might bring a page from your book to life and throw a kind of miracle your way.
Dr. Harold Abbott: I accepted the fact that life stopped being fair to me long ago but really this is too much for me.
Ms. Violetto: (to Thessaly) Thessaly, put that book away. You should know better than to be reading in MY classroom.
Student to Mrs. Violet: I'm a mummy!
Mrs. Violet to Student: Not until high school, sweetheart.
Ephram to Amy: Let me guess: Colin told you I might try to tell you that he was still sick you'd doubt him? (Amy nods) Everyone thinks I'm a lot dumber than I am. Why is that? Do I dress dumb?
Bright to Dr. Abbott: And tell me, Doctor, what are your feelings on homos?
Dr. Abbott to Bright: That's HMOs, Bright.
PE teacher: Late again, Brown.
Ephram: I got stuck in lab. Still working on my study of why playing sports makes you call people by their last name.
Episode Music:
David Gray - Freedom.
Liszt -Etude No.3 in G-Sharp Minor 'La Campanella'.
Wayne Dalglish who plays Young Bright in this episode later plays Young Lex in the WB show, Smallville.
Amy: (About Mrs. Hanson) She doesn't even drink coffee. She's like an X-file.
The X-Files is an awarded science fiction television show created by Chris Carter.
During the first choir scene, the choir are singing the Theme tune from NBC sitcom Cheers.
