I liked this episode a lot, here's why. The substitute teacher (Orlando Jones from 'Evolution') expects more from Chris which is making things very hard for him. When Chris is satisfied with a B-, the teacher insists he must achieve an A. He hilariously makes Chris wear a red shirt that says B- until he gets an A. Tanya figures out if she accuses Drew of hitting her, things go her way. I hated Tonya in this episode, Rochelle kept believing her as well but in the end when Drew has a word with his mom, Tonya is rumbled and in a fashion that had me in hysterics. Rochelle sent her upstairs and told Drew to turn up the television - and you know what that means...moreless

Music in tonight's episode:
The song that plays at the beginning of the episode is "Another Bites The Dust" by Queen.
The last song played is "Don't Get Me Wrong" by the Pretenders.
Edit
Greg: Ms. Morello went on a trip to Africa to help fight off an outbreak of yellow fever.
Chris: (narrating) More like she went to Harlem to fight off an outbreak of jungle fever.
(Ms. Morello is then seen dancing with some black guys)
Edit
Chris: Man, I can't believe this. The guy's gonna kill me. It's not like I didn't have it bad enough comin' to this school from the other side of town, havin' the kids kick the crap outta me, but now the teacher's gonna kick the crap outta me too.
Caruso: Quit complaining, Kareem. I love this guy. I didn't like him at first because of the whole black thing, but I'm doing better at math now. And the things he taught me about jazz, forget about it.
Edit
Rochelle: I'm raisin' men in this house, and men do not hit women.
Chris: (narrating) That meant you couldn't hit a girl even if you were supposed to hit her.
(Drew is in a boxing match with a female boxer; he tries to punch her)
Rochelle: You better not hit that girl!
(the female boxer punches Drew, knocking him out)
Edit
The scene where the substitute teacher makes Chris practice math in the yard and hoses him with water is from "An Officer and a Gentleman" (Richard Gere and Louis Gossett Jr.), even matching the dialogue.
Edit
Caruso: (to Chris) Hey Ebony. (to Greg) Ivory.
This is a reference to Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder's song, "Ebony and Ivory." This is the same song that plays the first time Caruso beats Chris up in the pilot episode.
Edit
The "Vitruvian Man" that Mr. Newton sketches on the blackboard is based on a drawing by Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci.
