  • Chris joins the wrestling team.

    6.5
In the spirit of Saved by the Bell, The Adventures of Pete and Pete and a plethora of other 90's comedies we had Chris Rock joining the wrestling team with this episode. This produced some solid comedy highlighted with Chris going on a brief winning streak (by forfeit of course) before finally being destroyed in his first actual bout. This was simple and the fact that it reeked of the 90's made it slightly enjoyable.

We also had the now obligatory American Idol/So You Think You Can Dance parody with Drew trying to put together a music group for a fake show known as Video Turntable. The show seems to love the dancing concept but to me this is not humorous, just really awkward television.moreless

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Drew: Aren't you gonna do something?
Princess Latifah: Why don't you do something?
Drew: 'Cause I'm the one auditioning you.
Princess Latifah: No one talks to Princess Latifah like that! Next!

    • Chris: They call me the Black Plague.
      Rochelle: Isn't that an insult?
Julius: I'm just glad you winnin'. We don't wanna know the things they call Jackie Robinson.
Chris: (narrating) If you really wanna know, ask Michael Richards or Don Imus.

    • Coach Brantley: You watch wrestling on TV?
Chris: All the time. Hulk Hogan, André the Giant, the Iron Sheik. I love all those guys.
Coach Brantley: It's too bad, 'cause all that crap is fake.

    • Referee: The Tessio Tigers do not have a wrestler to compete in this weight class, and therefore, the Tattaglia Sleeping Fish win by default!
Coach Brantley: Look at you with your win by forfeit, huh? You're just one step away from getting that varsity letter.
Chris: (narrating) I'm glad my neck still works.

    • Narrator: While Tonya tried to get into Drew's group, my mom tried to get into a pair of jeans. (Rochelle tries hard to put on a pair of jeans) She sweated less during childbirth.

    • Rochelle: I made extra if anybody wants seconds.
      Narrator: Nobody wanted firsts.

    • Julius: If this is how you do it and you tryin' to get skinny, I'd rather have you fat.
Chris: (narrating) That's what Kirstie Alley's man said to her.

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • After Julius said that he preferred Rochelle being fat, Chris (narrating) said that Kirstie Alley's husband does the same thing.

Kirstie Alley is an Emmy Award winning actress, best known for her work in the sitcom Cheers. The joke is that she's currently over-weight. However, when this episode aired, she was no longer married.

    • One of the girls in Drew's audition is called Princess Latifah.

Her name alludes to the Academy Award nominated actress/singer Queen Latifah.
