This show will probably get cancelled. Yet they can continue to air crap like Tyler Perry's House of Payne. God, TV sucks nowadays!! I mean every show is getting shorter and shorter it seems.

I know, I started liking this show about a year or two ago. At first I didn't think I'd like it because of the racist bully but he isn't that bad but he is racist. Dammit, I wish Chris Rock could give this show at least one more season then cancel the show setting the final episode in 1988.

    Except while Chris

Rock did start his comedy career in 1988, but he was 22 years old.

The years would match, the age wouldn't. I dont see the logic behind your thinking aside that we'd get one more season :p

Well this is bad news for future nostagic coming of age shows that are going to be similar to Happy Days, The Wonder Years, That 70s Show, and this show too. But good news, I have an idea of show set in the future and I'm hoping to get it on the air by 2010! But I need help. The script needs a lot of work. Can you put me in the right direction?

Something I don't get-how does CHris have to repeat the 10th grade for being late to 1 class? I work in the school system and high schools kids earn credits to advance. He would have to repeat that class or that semester that he didn't pass. So he would still have classes with Greg.

There is definitely something ominous about to happen in that final scene. Who was that guy that Chris tracks from the moment he walks is to the moment he disappears to the back of the restaurant? Loved the family sing along to Livin On A Prayer.

"The network sent the sitcom to a little-watched Friday night timeslot. To no surprise, viewership dropped even lower, to an average of 1.69 million viewers and a 0.6/2 rating/share.

So, viewership has dropped significantly in the past couple years and the network is now targeting its programming almost exclusively towards young women. The CW is essentially giving up on sitcoms and will have only 10 hours of primetime to fill next season. Unlike fellow "on the bubble" sitcom The Game, Chris already has 88 episodes which is just enough for syndication.

Rock decided to make it even easier for the programming execs by making the season finale a fitting end to the series. In the episode, Chris is faced with repeating the 10th grade so he decides to drop out and take the G.E.D. test instead. Williams says, "An envelope arrives (with his test results), but before we find out the results, we fade to black. If it ends here, we ended it the right way."

Will Chris be back next season? It looks very doubtful but we'll know for sure on May 21st when the network holds its advertiser upfront presentation.

What do you think? Should the sitcom come back or is it time to go?"

you don't do a Sopranos-type ending just for the hell of it-- this series is cancelled, sorry to say. All things must come to end eventually. With a half hour comedy show, you can't really expect some major production anyway-- especially from the half-assed network it is on.

Chris Rock said in his last comedy special that he used to work in a restaurant after dropping from school, cleaning shrimp. I guess that if the series ends here that "red lobster" reference is a nod to his upcoming future.

I hope it stays! I love this show! I don't know if this is still true or not but I read awhile back that at nite was going to pick it up for the fifth season! But if it did end it was a nice way to end it with the family being together! When i first watched it on the computer I thought it was missing a part too!
