An episode called "A Date for Peter" that does not exactly sound too thrilling, and this was not. As a show winds down the episodes are always phoned in and uneventful and this episode was not any different. Just completely phoned in, character based humor as they call it.

I also noticed that as the show progressed, Ray Romano became less and less involved in the main storylines. It felt like he had three or four lines tonight, and for a show titled Everybody Loves Raymond, he was almost a supporting character, and the show's title was not based on him.moreless
  • The Need to Date.

    9.5
Peter in the show was always a interesting character in the show. He seems to sort of have a bit of a bipolar direction on one hand he can strange in a humorious and slightly disturbing way. But when those times pass we see his humanity comes though which makes us actually like the guy more and feel for him because we see him as a soulful human being.

Peter's dillema is a common dillema with most men and women, lonelyness. Business for Peter's comic book and sci-fi/fantasy collection may be great but unfotunately there is just no business going on in his love life; it would matter how many more new comic books he gets it's just won't be enough to fill that hole in his soul. Thanks to Ray and Debra's help we actually see Peter make progress and find that connection he needs. But it of course hillarious just seeing Raymond as usual excersise stupidity and nerotism in the matter by blowing it temporarily for Peter. Both Ray and Peter in this episode have an interesting dynamic which is a common feeling, while Peter envys the commitment Ray has with Debra, Ray envy's Peter and all the freedom he has in being single.moreless
  • A great use of guest stars make this final season installment of Everybody Loves Raymond great.

    9.5
A Date for Peter is another great installment of Everybody Loves Raymond and proof that the series could still stay fresh in its last season. The episode made good use of guest stars with appearances by Amy\'s parents, Peter, Peggy, and Stefania. Robert\'s role in the episode was secondary, but the writers still came up with a few great lines from him. The bit with Marie fixing Debra\'s party food was a bit hackneyed, but parts of the episode made me laugh out loud- and that means its a good one!moreless
