Ray buys Debra an elaborate Christmas gift in the hopes that she will be so impressed, she will let him go on a weekend golf trip with his buddies, but he doesn't count on the even more extravagant gift that Debra has purchased for him. I thought that this was an excellent Christmas episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond". It was very funny and the storyline was done perfectly and right. Marie was also funny in this episode eavesdropping on Raymond and Debra arguing with each other and pretending to dust or cook or whatever she did in this episode. The part that did make crack up the hardest was when Robert got a tie telling Debra "Um... I think this is a mistake, it's for Raymond" and then Debra said "Oh no, I just said that the tie was for Ray so I can surprise you" and then Robert's face afterwards made me even more hilarious. There were a lot of more parts to get a really good laugh at. Overall, an excellent Christmas episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond". 10/10moreless
  • Ray thinks that Debra bought him an ugly tie for Christmas but suspects that she is trying to brown nose him when she buys him a DVD player.

    7.6
There isn't a lot of Raymond episodes that i think are really good. i mean i think every episode i've seen is very funny but there all mainly good, like this one. It's pretty funny with the gags like Ray flinging melted chocalate from a spoon onto Deb's face. (i think that was the only gag) and other little jokes. But just like all Raymond episodes this one is driven by verbal humor not slapstick and side gags. All of the interruptions by Marie into Ray's and Deb's conversation and Robert's continual talk about Ray getting a DVD player and him getting an ugly tie are the funny stuff that make this a good Raymond episode.moreless
  • The essential modern family sit-com is best exemplfied in this classic Christmas episode.

    9.9
Hands down this is one of the best, if not the best, sit-com Christmas episodes of all time. Every main character is in his or her element. As usual, Debra Barone (the enchanting actress Patricia Heaton) steals the show with her deft comic acting skills. All sit-coms of any worth or duration have tried to make a decent Christmas episode. "Everybody Loves Raymond" has produced many fine examples, but none better than this. It should be an annual Christmas classic to be watched over and over again, in the company of Bing Crosby's "White Christmas," and Frank Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life."moreless

In this episode: Ray buys Debra a nice Christmas gift in the hopes that she will let him go on a weekend golf trip with his buddies. But Debra gives Ray an expensive gift which makes him wonder what she wants in return.

Very well written episode, lots of funny lines.
