Episode Summary

EDIT
Inspired by how well the Barones got along at Thanksgiving dinner, Debra is intent on finding a way to improve her relationship with Marie. When Debra spends the whole day cooking with Marie, it's the perfect opportunity to test out her new "shrug it off and let the criticisms roll off your back" attitude that she feels will win Marie over. Meanwhile, Ray gets roped into having Frank and Robert accompany him to a car show, where he has his own method of getting along with his family.moreless

  • Debra goes "into the belly of the beast"

    10
The Barones have all just had Thanksgiving dinner when Amy suggests that Debra help her and Marie with the cooking for Sunday's dinner. At first, Debra objects, since Marie always takes things so sarcastically with Debra, but then she decides to do so.

So Debra, Amy and Marie all spend the entire Sunday afternoon making dinner. At first, Marie goes through her usual routine, but in the end, she takes to having Debra as her help and Debra has a good time, leaving Amy basically speechless!

The best part of the episode without a doubt is the living room scene. It always has been with most of the episodes. Marie, always being the one who sometimes takes things too critical (sometimes? Make that all the time!) acts as if Debra was being sarcastic when she really wasn't. Marie then says that if Debra needs any help with things...or cooking or cleaning or the kids or her hair, she would always be around to help.

So, overall, this episode is funny. Some of the lines are pretty well delivered. This was also the first episode I watched that featured Amy and she was absolutely smashed! It seems like she was drunk in every scene which got annoying, but still, I love this episode. It's another nice installment. 10/10moreless
  • Debra is asked by a drunk Amy after Thanksgiving dinner to help Marie and her with dinner for Sunday. While helping, Debra decides to try and not get mad at anything Marie says to her, makin it seem like she's using the advice that Marie gives her.moreless

Later to find out, Marie thought she was being "very sarcasic" when she was just "being nice." Ending in Debra asking the guys and Amy, who was being nice in it all. Of course the guys dont want to answer and Amy saying they are "both very nice people" then offering wine to change the subject making her just as drunk as during Thanksgiving. A hilarious episode espiecally with Amy showing signs that she's drunk almost entire time. Definitly something you wouldn't see Amy do any other time. This is a very funny episode and the lesson is that you should just be yourself.moreless
