Out of all the "Raymond" episodes created over the past 9 years, this is probably Madylin Sweeten's biggest role. Most of the episodes didn't focus on the kids at all, but even the few that did only required them to be in a few scenes. Sweeten does a fairly good job here--not as well as she did in some other episodes, but it was still an enjoyable episode.
Any storyline involving the hilarious friction between Ray and Peggy is a real keeper, and their arguing over a $250 party dress here is genuinely funny. It also provides a very sweet scene between Ray and Ally.
The ending of this episode was kind of silly and annoying, but all in all it was a classic "Raymond" episode, delivering all the laughs you've come to expect.
