  • Territorial Warfare

    9.2
The conflicting interplay between both Ray and Debra is funny as heck. The themes in this episode are the trouble with sharing personal territory and simply communication. The whole episode is all about the build up where it starts out suttle than it becomes big. At first giving up the bathroom is no big deal but soon Ray puts his foot down which winds into one of the most hilarious fights in the show ever when both Ray and Debra are pointing out flaws in each of their charcters and acting them out. Then it's ends in a water fight. Comic gold.moreless

    • Frank: Give the woman the kitchen and the bedroom. The bathroom belongs to the King.
Robert: It looks like Raymond has abdicated his throne.

    • Ray: Do I disgust you? I disgust you, don't I?
Debra: No! No, no, no...not all the time.

    • Debra: You want to know why I sigh, Ray? It's like a pressure valve. A release. Being married to you, if I didn't sigh once in a while I would EXPLODE!

    • Ray: All I'm saying is I want some space to myself once in a while.
Debra: Then why didn't you just say that instead of giving a whole speech about how you have nothing?
      Ray: I did.
Debra: When do you say, "Excuse me, I just need a little space right now in my office"?
      Ray: When I sighed.

    • Debra: Well, this should be a little lesson for you. You should always mean what you say.
Ray: And you should always mean what you sigh!

    • Ray: It's no big deal. I'll just move down the hall to the kids' bathroom.
      Debra: You would do that?
Ray: Not just for anybody--the person I'm having sex with tonight!

    • Debra: Maybe I don't want to think that my husband, whom I'm married to, would like to live with a monkey!
      Ray: Well, maybe I would!
Debra: Well, maybe I already do!

    • Ray: I know why you try to stop your sneeze. Because you want to control it. It's all about the control, thaaaat's right! You gotta control everything, including in here.
      Debra: Up your nose?
      Ray: And into my brain.
Debra: Well, I guess I would use the biggest opening!

    • Robert: You know what, you're right, Raymond. I feel bad about what I said. You deserve to relax. (turns on the kitchen sink faucet) Let me run you a hot bath.

    • Debra: You sneeze as if it were a big Broadway musical: 'Ah-ah-choo! Ah-ah-choo! Good night, everybody! Enjoy my mucus!'
