Evil Roy Slade was a made-for-television movie that premiered in 1972.
It starred John Astin as the title role and featured Mickey Rooney as
Nelson L. Stool, a railroad tycoon. The comedic film was about Roy
Slade, the supposed "meanest villain in the west." As a child, Slade
lived alone with only his teddy bear. As an adult, he's feared by
everyone around. The film spoofs several western cliches and features a
rapid-fire comedic pace that would be picked up by the comedies of the
late '70s and early '80s.
