Episode Summary

EDIT
We find Excel wandering the wasteland that once was "F" City, where she becomes entangled in a conflict between a settlement of survivors and a band of marauding raiders. After fending off the thugs with her "ACROSS Martial Arts" (which involves beating the opponent in the right places 'til they turn into a Digi Charat character), Excel finally finds her beloved Ilpalazzo... only for him to strike her down callously. Without the Great Will to ressurect her, can the mortally wounded Excel survive? (She'd better. The series isn't over yet!)moreless

    • NOTES (4)

      • Authorization: After an announcer gets the year wrong, Nabeshin flees from a group of punks, clinging to a piece of paper for dear life. He collides with a leather-wearing Rikdo Koshi and hands off the paper to him before continuing to run. The paper is, of course, the authorization to make Excel Saga a future-wasteland show, and the seal is a punch from Rikdo Koshi. Unfortunately for Koshi, the punks are a bit too much for him...

      • Excel's "Beautiful Fist" attack looks suspiciously a lot like Ranma's "Kachu tTnshin Amageriken" on Ranma ½... though similar to that, it is in fact based on Kenshiro from the Fist of the North Star, his "Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken", or "North Star Hundred Crack Fist".

      • Ilpalazzo is revealed to be in league with That Man.

      • This episode is an obvious parody of post-apocalyptic anime such as "Fist of the North Star" and "Akira".

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Almost everything in this episode is an allusion to Fist of the North Star, the year 199X, the moves, the gang members, the kid Pad (Bat), the silhouetted gore, the wasteland itself with all the broken and tilted buildings, the way the bodies morphed, everything.
