  • A wondrous episode running the entire gambit of positive emotions.

The episode leaves me speechless. It runs the gauntlet of positive emotions. I only wish the episode had been longer to see everything that went into completing the house.

Disney, ABC, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition really out did themselves this week. Instead of remodeling the Bliven's home, they gave them a new home. Actually, they:

_*_*_* Disney vacation on a cruise. They show doesn't tell us if they got help with their special needs Son. I'm hoping they had additional assistance so all five of them could have a wonderful stress free adventure.

_*_*_* Gave the Bliven's old home to a new family (not seen during this episode other than the hand over the Habitat for Humanity. * * * Remodeled a baseball field for those with physical challenges and for those who are there to cheer them on and assist the players. The team (Dream Catchers) also got new uniforms. _*_*_* Gave the Bliven family a new home from the foundation up.

_*_*_* Last but not least, they paid off the Bliven family's old mortgage!

The Bliven family has a special needs child who is out growing his home and family's ability to physically help him. They needed wider hallways, the ability to lift him, time for themselves, monitoring gear, and wider family areas to name a few of their needs.

Widening everything in the home simply wouldn't be possible with the original home and still keep a complete home for five (2 parents and three children). The EM:HE team made the correct choice in starting from scratch in giving the Bliven family their makeover.moreless
  • A special boy with cerebral palsy is given a chance at living a better and fuller life. His parents are given the help they have needed for years, and love flows freely.moreless

This series is a wonderful, loving one that made me realize that not all reality show are guys walking around naked on a beach (remember richard hatch?), winning money. This show truly and sincerly helps people, making their lives easier and better. I am usually in tears by the end of each show, and this one for sure. With their mother lifting this young man around the house, and without a special place for her to care for her son, this kid got no privacy. Diaper changes on the living room couch. Baths in the family bathroom. A hall way too narrow to safely carry a young man down.

The team came in and made this a house for this family, giving them a special bath, a special lifting and cable/pulley system, a bed that can detect seizures, and it brought together an already strong family.

This show proves to me that there are still good and wonderful people left in this world.moreless

  • Hits close to home!

This show hits very close to home as I have a nephew that has CP and that he also is in a wheelchair as he and his twin have had problems since they were less than one pound born. This family really deserved a house and there were indeed a lot of emotions as well as positive attitudes. Loved the baseball game in the end.
