    The Giunta family: Paul, Renee and their children Dylan, Cameron and Brianna

    Paul and Renee loved adventure and exercise they even ran in marathons together!

    On Sunday, March 26th, 2006 a tragic accident occurred. Paul got into a car crash and he wasn't expected to survive the night but amazingly he did!

    Later on doctors said he would never walk again but Paul defied the odds!

    Since the accident Paul's had four major brain surgeries. He's worked hard in therapy and is determined to get stronger. He started to speak again and took his first steps out of a wheelchair.

    Paul hasn't lived at home since the accident because the halls are too narrow and the floors aren't level.

    Renee says in her Application Video, "I miss my best friend and my kids need their Dad."

    This family is well-known and well-loved in the community.moreless

    I watched this episode tonight, fist time watching it. I am so sorry for what the family had to go through. But, I am very happy that they got their beloved husband & father home. They never lost hope. They never felt pity. That is true love. They were determined. And if you look back, there was an angel watching over all of them. Unfortunately, Mr. Girunta took two years to make it home, but he is there. Mrs. Giunta gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Briana. I think it is awesome that someone submitted the Giunta's for a home make over. I live in Massachusetts (Woburn, to be exact) and if I had heard about this family, I would have definitely voted for them. Mr. Guinta (welcome home!). Mrs. Guinta (you are an angel for not losing hope!) Congrats on your reunion.moreless
