I watch the show weekly and really enjoy this show. I am writing because I had many questions on the episode about "The Tate Family". I am glad the show was there to help the family. But the fact that no insurance company would cover this I can not believe. This plane was at least a twin engine. My brother and father-in-law are both pilots and my brother-in-law flys a plane almost like this one that hit the Tate family home. There is no company that would send a plane like that in the air without insurance. Even if it did not for some reason have insurance why did the owner of the planes estate not get sued for the damages?? It all does not fit together. And the situation on the home not having insurance is another wierd deal. I understand they re-financed the home and the coverage on insurance had some issues, and they were not covered by homeowners insurance either. How does a mistake as large as that happen and no one find it? Did they not realize they were not making payments? I do not see how that slipped through the cracks. A mortgage company normally makes you show proof of insurance coverage. In this case with the plane crash, it would not matter about homeowners insurance because the planes insurance would cover this and any damages. If it was the pilots private aircraft his estate would cover all damages. Again, as I said I am glad they got the help and now have a house to live in. I only wondered does anyone else see this situation like this or have questions also?moreless
I understand the show wanting to help this family. What I don't understand is why nothing was said about the 2 people on the plane and why nothing was done for them. This was truly a tragic accident for everyone involved. And then for the older son to say "I was never thanked publicly when he returned from Irag" tell him to call anyone from the Vietnam war and see what kind of home coming they received. My husband was spit on when he got off the plane. It is a shame he had to make such a comment.moreless
Like one reviewer has said, this was a bit out Of character as a small plane crashes in the family House and the heartless insurance owner won't give the family any money and insurance. Now how heartles is that. But leave it all up to the team to give the family a new home and the Marine not just a room but a truck in the end.
Odd, a twin engine aircraft hits a house and the aircraft has no insurance? Hard to believe. A news story indicates that the aircraft was owned by Cirrus Aviation which seems to be a going concern.
Sure seems odd that the insurance company for the owner of the aircraft was not throwing money at the Tates because their plane destroyed the house. Why no liability insurance on the aircraft? And how come the house didn't have any insurance on it? They said they had re-financed the house. Who screwed up and didn't cover the house for insurance? The cool thing was the truck being given to the Marine.moreless
