Extreme Makeover follows the stories of the lucky individuals who are chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be given a truly "Cinderella-like" experience: a real life fairy tale in which their wishes come true, not just by changing their looks, but their lives and destinies. This magic is conjured through the skills of an "Extreme Team," including the nation's top plastic surgeons, eye surgeons and cosmetic dentists, along with a talented team of hair and makeup artists, stylists, and personal trainers, led by an on-camera Extreme Makeover expert. This season will feature more "news you can use" tips about fashion, hair and makeup for the home viewers also, so they, too, can experience a little bit of the show's magic. Each self-contained episode features two people, seen first in their "before" phase, then as they undergo their various procedures, and finally, in a climactic unveiling - the "after" -when the candidates reveal their new selves to their families and friends.

    I am Sheila Dyer. I am 51 year old. I have 4 children (grown) and 16 Grandchildren. Ever since I was little my teeth have been bad. That makes me feel ugly. I never felt pretty. I never going have the money for a make over. I just set and cry. I wish I could be a least pretty. I don't think I could not be anuthing but ugly. I can see poeple look than look away again. You can tell what they are thinking. And it hurts.moreless

    Muy buenas tardes, no estoy segura si aun siguen ayudando a la gente, pero si es as les agradecera tanto si nos ayudara a mi familia y a mi. Vivimos en la Ciudad de Tijuana B.C. Mxico.
    En la familia somos cuatro personas.
    Mi madre: tiene 42 aos de edad. Ella trabajo estuvo casada con mi padre durante cinco ao si bien recuerdo y el la abandono dejndola con 3 hijos. Desde entonces a trabajado en fabricas donde trabajo muchos aos. En ese tiempo vivamos en dos cuartos de madera pasbamos fros, cuando llova el agua se meta y nos enfermbamos mucho. Como dije anteriormente ella trabajo muchos aos en fbrica aproximadamente 15 aos, un da iba a su trabajo y el taxi donde viajaba choco. Desde eso momento no a trabajado ya que el accidente le trajo una enfermedad (disques de hernias) y la empresa la despidi ya que eran muchas incapacidades. Hasta la fecha no la aceptan en ningn empleo.

    Mi hermano: tiene 23 aos de edad. El tiene mucho potencial, toca la guitarra muy bien, canta muy bien, cuando estaba en la primaria sacaba el primer lugar en carreras, es muy bueno para matemticas. Pero todo esto no importa mucho ya que no puede estudiar por falta de dinero. El y yo tuvimos que empezar a trabajar para ayudar a mama ya que su familia nunca nos han ayudado para ellos es mal visto una mujer soltera.

    Mi hermana: tiene 16 aos de edad. Ella no convivio con nuestro padre, pero gracias a mi Dios que ella si a podido seguir sus estudios, le dieron una beca para la preparatoria y va muy bien, ella canta muy bien de echo esta en el coro de la iglesia. El nico problema es que esta en un colegi de paga y ve cosas que no puede tener, ella no dice nada al respecto pero si nosotros si lo notamos. Ella es muy linda le gusta ayudar a mama en la limpieza de la casa. Pero le gusta mucho la moda ella mira revistas de moda y compra ropa usada y la combina sper bien que parece nueva.
    Yo: tengo 21 aos de edad. Desde que mama quedo sin empleo empec a trabajar en una pizzera (Domino's) , entre primer semestre de prepa y se me dificulto ya que entraba a las 7am y sala a las 2pm, entraba a la prepa a las 3pm y sala a las 11pm entonces me fue imposible y se necesitaba mas el dinero decid salirme de la preparatoria. Me gusta ayudar a las personas de bajos recursos. En mi iglesia a misiones que se dedican a llevar alimentos a poblaciones indgenas y me gusta ir a ayudar y darles esperanza me gusta compartirles de Jesucristo y el amor que l tiene para ellos, se que no tengo dinero, pero mis manos y mi sonrisa cuenta no?. Tengo dos aos dando clases de escuelita dominical a nios de tres a cinco aos en mi iglesia. Dios me bendijo con un buen trabajo a pesar de no tener la preparatoria. Pero con lo que me pagan no alcanza.
    Como les comente anteriormente, vivamos en dos cuartos de madera que hermanos de una iglesia en E.U.A nos hicieron con todo su corazn y que nosotros les agradecimos mucho. En un cuarto estaba la cama y la sala y haba una cama de madera pegada al techo jajaja era muy chistoso tenamos que escalar como unos changuitos para dormir all pero no puedo negar que es de los recuerdo mas bonitos que tengo de esos cuartos. en el otro cuarto, estaba la cocina y el bao nunca tuvimos boiler. Asi vivimos por 20 aos.
    Convenc a mama que saliramos a rentar, despus de que se metieron a robar mientras dormamos, adems que las paredes eran ya de color negro por la humedad de la lluvia y que no cabamos.
    No fuimos a rentar a otra colonia y la casa era de dos cuartos un poco mas amplios pero la diferencia mas grande es de que son de material. Mi hermano en la actualidad no trabaja y por lo tanto no aporta econmicamente. En este momento soy la nica que lo hago y estoy contenta de poder ayudar a mama.
    Yo lo promet a mama comprarle una casa, claro que en un futuro cuando pueda terminar mis estudios y graduarme. Que espero poder hacerlo.
    Lo ms complicado de todo es que la renta aumenta y ya no tengo de donde sacar mas dinero y quisiera su ayuda.
    a mi madre le regalaron un terreno, pero como las asociaciones que se dedican a hacer casas por trabajo no queran ir a ese lugar por la inseguridad y la zona de peligro. As que mama dono el terreno a la iglesia.
    Hermanos de Extreme Makeover hemos estado orondo 15 aos Dios por que un milagro venga a nuestra familia y creo con todo mi corazn que ustedes son nuestro milagro. Nosotros miramos solo un programa de televisin y es el de ustedes, vemos como llevan esperanza a esas familias y le dan esperanza a la nuestra y se que la frontera no ser un obstculo para ustedes.
    Les prometo que cuando me gradu en el futuro, les ayudare en sus proyectos porque estudiare mercadotecnia y por qu a dems me encanta ayudar a los dems.

    i am 12 and my mum is 38. i realy want to help my mum be the person she used to be, when i was born she was in a very abusive relationship that changed her she was abused and still has the scars, she had to try protect me and herself. that made her lose trust in men she has been hurt and used by friends and has lost trust in all people her family wasnt there to help her wich made her stressed and when she finally tryed to start new she ended up in another bad relationship she has been attacked and that stoped her going out she feels depressed and hates people seeing her the way she is she is single and sais that she will always be single and alone she has no confidence and has gained weight that she cant handle i dont even know how she got to her size so fast its hard for her to lose the weight because of her knees and her bad back she cant handle going into puplic places and being seen she has a mental illness that started since the abuse she gets upset when she goes to get dressed because she doesnt have many nice or tidy clothes she struggles with going out even just to the shops every day she puts on make up because she hates seening herself without it even if she isnt going anywhere, she sais she hasnt got many good friends because she has been hurt so much and the few she is friends with ask her to go out with them but she doesnt coz she feels to bad about herself we have a spare room with all my mums old clothes that useed to fit her but she never goes in there coz it upsets her and she has no social life because she is to stressed and has been hurt so much in so many different ways that it has made her ill, it makes me sad to see my mum so sad and not the happy person she used to be and to hear her talking bout how she will always be alone and how sad she feels i want to help her and to be able to see my mum out with her friends and to be able to have a social life i would love to just have her be happy and feel good about herself for once and it would do so much for her and me i realy wish i could help her but i just dont know how but she has always watched exereme makeover and i hear her saying that she wishes that she could be luckey enough to have that happen to her she only wants to be able to feel confident around people again and she has told me the only thing that keeps her going is me and i would love to be able to do her this one special thing for her coz i know it would be a dream come true for her. i know that alot of bad things have happend to my mum and alot i havent been told about some things have been so bad that she doesnt realy speak of it and its upseting coz she realy does try her best to make a difference there is just to much to explain that if i were to tell you everything it would be paiges of badluck and pain, she is mentaly and physicaly handycaped that it makes everything so much harder she was 8 stone and has put on another 8 stone hes has tryed to lose the weight but it just gets worse we went to a gym earlyer and it was hard for her to be able to walk in and as soon as she saw men she lost it with herself and could not handle the fact that there could be someone looking at her she hates being around people coz she is not mentaly stable enough to cope with the stress we dont have enough money to bye something to help her lose the weight coz she rather put me first. things that you find easy like going to the shop being around people my mum finds dificult she stays in hiding herself away she spends her birthday alone because she just has nothing nice to do she only goes out when she has to, her parents try to help her but nothing realy helps her and i know that this is my only chance to make her happy and to actually help her, if you can think of all the bad things that happen to people its all happend to her. she sais she will never be picked anyway so im trying to prove her wrong and do this for her coz i know this is her dream for something to finally go right in her life. and its not right to have my mum say she hopes i dont turn out like her its not right for anyone i dont think anything more can go wrong for my mum i just want to make her wish come true. from Angel xmoreless

    Extreme Makeover ... (for body)
    I was excited to hear that there still was a possibility to enter contests that a person could be made over from head to toe! I so liked and believed in the things that this show was doing for both women and men that had issues concerning appearances, that seemed to be effecting the emotional parts of life, .. namely depression. And due to lack of money or support have not been able to take steps in order to change the current situation for themselves. If there is still is a place where a person could find out more information concerning contests, for this particular subject, I would appreciate if you would direct me in the direction i need to go.moreless

    I am 19 years old and attending college Independently. I ask you to help out my family with whatever help there is out there, we are a big family 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Now its only 6 brother my little brother passed away when he was only 2 years old and now my sister that is 20 is very sick and has been in a hospital for a month now, she has some kind of blood desease and I dont want to go through what I did when my brother passed away. My parents live in a house that is in a not very good shape, and there are eleven people living there, my parents work from 8 am to 9pm every day of every year. Its hard for them to spend time with us or go watch us play the sports the we play because they have to keep working to give us what we want. I only ask for a little bit of help because I knkow there are worst families out there and I know they deserve more but I wanna be able to spend more time with family together as a whole. Again the help would really make my parents, brothers, and sisters very happy and thats what I live for.moreless
