Eye to Eye With Connie Chung

Show Summary

Eye To Eye With Connie Chung was a news show that aired on the CBS network from 1993 to August of 1995.
The show was hosted by Connie Chung as another avenue of exposure for her in addition to her time as co-anchor of The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.
Her fall from grace and firing from the network came after an indiscretion during an interview where the mother of a famous conservative politician whispered something to her about Hilary Clinton, thinking she was not able to be heard. When the segment aired, the off-mic remark had been boosted to the point of being audible. This was felt by both political parties as being underhanded and taking advantage of an older woman and CBS decided to fire Chung from her position on the news and the show. She left the network shortly afterward.
