Dobbs: Cap'n, if you're not gonna eat that leg, can I have it?
Capt.Parmenter: Of course Dobbs.
(Dobbs eats the chicken leg)
Agarn:(sobbing) Eating in front of a starving man. You're little heart is made of stone.
-
O'Rourke: (about Capt. Parmenter and Agarn's survival test) Knowing those two men as I do...I must have been crazy to let them go alone.
-
Capt.Parmenter: Agarn, I hear a bear growling. (Agarn slaps his face) Why are you slapping my face?!
Agarn: Aren't you hysterical?
Cap.Parmenter: No. I really do hear a bear growling.
Agarn:(panicking) You'd better get ready to slap my face.
-
Capt. Parmenter: Well, next time I'm on a survival test, don't you dare send fried chicken. Baked ham, yes. Fried chicken always gives me a touch of indigestion.
-
Wild Eagle: Birds always fly north in winter.
Capt. Parmenter: Uh, no, no, no, Chief. Birds always fly south in the winter.
Wild Eagle: But sun rise in west and set in east.
Capt. Parmenter: No, the sun rises in east and sets in the west.
Wild Eagle: Captain Parmenter, you looking at chief who don't know sunset from his bird.
-
Capt. Parmenter: (after hearing a bear) This is the best thing that's happened to us.
Agarn: How's that, sir?
Capt. Parmenter: Well, now we can get fresh meat.
Agarn: Just our luck. The first thing we find we can eat ... can eat us.
-
Agarn: But, Captain, once we start the fire, what are we gonna eat?
Capt. Parmenter: Well, there's a very nice recipe in the manual for a bullfrog soup.
Agarn: Bullfrog soup?
Capt. Parmenter: Mm hmm. I can hear them croaking.
Agarn: And when one of them croaks, we eat him.
-
O'Rourke: Good luck, old buddy. I'll see you in about ten days. Don't you worry about a thing.
Agarn: Worry? Why should I worry? Me and the captain, we're both soldiers. Been through a lot of tough campaigns together. We both have knives and a canteen cup. The Army has provided us with survival manuals. And I'm sure somewhere in that manual ... is a lovely funeral service. (sobs)

Captain Blair: (describing medals) This is for the battle with the Cheyenne at Rainbow Bend. This is for the Apache attack at Sunset Pass.
Wrangler Jane: What's this one for?
Captain Blair: A waltz contest at Little Big Horn.
-
Wrangler Jane: (examining Blair's medals) My, you must have every medal a man can get for being in the Army.
Captain Blair: Well, uh, this one's from the Navy.
Capt. Parmenter: The Navy?
Captain Blair: I swam out to the Merrimac and rescued the captain.
