    • Lucky Pierre: (about the burglar of Banff) He's so clever he once stole a beaver coat. Crazy Cat: What's so clever about that? Lucky Pierre: It was still on the beaver.
    • Wild Eagle: (handling Lucky Pierre's cooking) You taste first, Crazy Cat. Crazy Cat: No, after you. You're the chief. Wild Eagle: If you want to be like chief, you taste first! Crazy Cat: If you taste first, maybe I be chief!
    • Lucky Pierre: I develop this myself. Through careful cross-breeding, I mated a lynx with a marmoset. Agarn: What do you call it? Lucky Pierre: Minks. O'Rourke: Oh, that's very clever of you, Lucky. Cross-breeding, huh? Lucky Pierre: I'm also thinking of mating a fox with my mink. Agarn: You could call it a fink! Lucky Pierre: (guffaws) Very good, cousin, very good. Agarn: Or you could even cross a lynx with a fox and you'd have a lox.

    • The song both Sgt. Ramsdens sing while traveling on their dog sleds is Tramp, Tramp, Tramp from the 1910 operetta Naughty Marietta which is set in New Orleans not Canada. Although not appropriate to F-Troop's time period or setting, the song is associated with singer/actor Nelson Eddy who in turn is associated with the Mounties having famously played one in the movie version of Rose Marie. The other song the Mounties sing ("I Dream of Wrangler...") is actually an adaptation of the classic song by Stephen Foster Jeannie With the Light Brown Hair. The song was written in 1854 and so could easily fit into F-Troop's 1860s setting.
