Allusions
ADD ALLUSIONS-
The song both Sgt. Ramsdens sing while traveling on their dog sleds is Tramp, Tramp, Tramp from the 1910 operetta Naughty Marietta which is set in New Orleans not Canada. Although not appropriate to F-Troop's time period or setting, the song is associated with singer/actor Nelson Eddy who in turn is associated with the Mounties having famously played one in the movie version of Rose Marie. The other song the Mounties sing ("I Dream of Wrangler...") is actually an adaptation of the classic song by Stephen Foster Jeannie With the Light Brown Hair. The song was written in 1854 and so could easily fit into F-Troop's 1860s setting.
