Fairly Secret Army

Show Summary

Fairly Secret Army is a British comedy series, which started in 1984 and ended in 1986. It stars Geoffrey Palmer, Diane Fletcher, Jeremy Child, Michael Robbins and Liz Fraser. The show follows the life of retired army man Major Harry Kitchener Wellington Truscott (Geoffrey Palmer), a somewhat eccentric man, who is trying to set up his own secret army to fight anarchy. Truscott, however, finds it rather difficult to recruit members for his mini-army and his plans do not quite pan out the way he had hoped. This leads Truscott and his mini army into some funny situations. The show, which was directed by Roy Ward Baker and written by David Nobb's, ran for two seasons and had 13 episodes in total. It is a pseudo spin-off from writer David Nobb's popular show "The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin." Geoffrey Palmer starred as Jimmy Anderson in "The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin" and his character in Fairly Secret army is an expansion of his Jimmy Anderson character.
