  • Problems with Lexi

    8.0
I still have problems with the Lexi storyline. It seems as if they want to build up Lexi as this season's adversary, but this part of the story just seems a bit over the top and out of sorts with the rest of the plotlines. Her "powers" don't fit into the sci-fi of the rest of the storylines and seem more to belong to fantasy than sci-fi. Also I think that the actress is not very well suited to the character ( in contrast Karen was a great enemy, human and ruthless at the same time and you could always relate to the memory of her before she was turned). Lexi is mostly erratic and annoying and becoming more power hungry. She seems to have no real relationship with the others and we have no real insight into her, her motives and feelings. This has a big effect on the characters around her. Lourdes could have been so interesting this season, after all she went through last season. But she is only a very two dimensional character here, only saying over and over that Lexi is the best and everybody should leave her alone and live in happy land. And how did Maggie not go crazy after all these months? She still seems to be the same person, but seemingly only waited for Ben to wake up. It is a wonder she is still there. And nobody seems too concerned with finding the rest of their family. You should think that Maggie would have been looking for Hal, or would even mention him, and that Ben, after he wakes up would want to find his father and brothers. But they don't even have a conversion about this. It feels like this part of the episodes it written by a different writer than the rest.

On the other hand I liked Pope going half cocked as always, question authority as always ( I think he keeps the rest of them from becoming too powerful and reminds them to question themselves) and finding a woman who is a real match for him ( I read that he will get a girlfriend this season and this must be her).moreless
