Episode 15
AIRED:
Friday night in the Academy and the students return after their live showdown. The boys wind down by stripping off most of their clothes and getting muddy on the hill! The next morning, the students watch their performances from the previous night, and Carrie is full of praise for all of them. Katie's dramatic improvement is noted, and and Carrie brings some humour into the meeting by joking that Lemar's duet with Lionel Ritchie was rubbish! Later on, in Nigel's personal lesson with Carrie, the fiery-haired vocal teacher suggests that he voted tactically for Katie on the previous night. Nigel is adamant that he voted for the best performer. He tells the group about this later on at dinner, and Katie is slightly upset, saying "Says a lot about me, doesn't it?" At the night-time acoustic session, Malachi wows the group with a love song which he says is for Sinead. It's so good that she decides not to perform one of her own songs and goes for one written by her favourite artist instead. The next day, Ainslie's late to Pam's song-writing lesson, and she's slightly offended, reminding Ainslie that he wouldn't dare be late to Carrie or Kevin's lessons, and demands the same sort of respect. She tells the students that certain individuals aren't performing as well as they could. Also, Kevin opens a new greenhouse for the students - and the door falls off as he declares it open! At the grade meeting, Lemar's name is put forward for Grade A status again, but Carrie argues David's case successfully. On probation this week are Katie, Marli, who seems to have lost her way, and Malachi, who disappointed the teachers on Friday night. David is ecstatic to have achieved Grade A, especially when Richard invites him to sing one of his own songs on Friday night. "This Grade A thing's not too shabby is it?" he laughs. Later that night, the students are treated with a Bonfire Night party, where Ainslie and Marli mud-wrestle. Watching from afar, Nigel comments that Ainslie is unreal sometimes. Will their rivalries affect their duet on Friday?moreless
