Episode Summary

Episode 21
Sunday night in the Academy and as the students return from the live showdown, they are reeling from everything that has happened. Nigel has been evicted, and David has been put on probation. Sinead thinks that it was unfair for it to be announced like that, but headteacher Richard Park argues that life is unfair.

David goes to see Richard and says that he's received a double blow tonight - he regarded Nigel as a good friend, and now he's going to be singing for survival on Friday.

On Monday morning, some noticeable sleeping changes have been made. Ainslie and Malachi have joined Sinead in the girls' bedroom, and the remaining boys - David and Lemar - have a new arrival in their room - Katie.

The students gather to discuss their performances. Watching a video recording of last night's show, Malachi says that he is happy with his performance, and the others agree, saying that he looked like a star. Ainslie thinks that he sang out of tune, but Carrie says that this works for him, and that the way that he presents himself on stage will always make up for his voice - it works for him.

David admits to feeling pressured about his upcoming live performance, and he thinks that his hard work isn't paying off.

The teachers gather to grade the students, and it's definitely becoming harder as the competition hots up. Pam thinks that Malachi looked good but could do with improving his stage performance. Everybody agrees that Katie still thinks of the Academy as a learning experience, and doesn't have a hunger for music.

Later, Pam asks Ainslie why he hasn't been working on his songs enough. She tells him that he has amazing ability in the songwriting field, but needs to practise, like David - who spends "every waking moment" trying to think of a new song. Ainslie promises to try harder.

Sinead starts to have doubts about her new roommates, and wonders whether Katie should move back to the girls' room. But Sinead may have problems keeping Ainslie and Malachi away - as they say that they love having Sinead sleeping in the same bedroom as them.

The teachers host a meeting, where Richard announces that a party will take place on Wednesday. But, there has been a recent case of rule-breaking which needs to be sorted out - a water fight, which could have been a health and safety danger, with the huge amounts of electrical equipment in the Academy. Richard says that if nobody owns up, the party will be called off.

The second student on probation is announced as Katie. Richard says that he doesn't want her to feel down about it, and to keep her spirits up, she'll be given a reward. Carrie will accompany her to the London premiere of the new James Bond film - "Die Another Day". The third student on probation will be announced later in the week - but the teachers reveal that it's between best friends Ainslie and Malachi.

As Katie gets ready for her night out, David admits to starting the water fight. The party is on!moreless
