Episode 3
AIRED:
A recap of events in the Academy since the students moved in on Friday night. The students were given a lie in on Saturday morning, by Fame Academy standards anyway. They weren't awoken until 9am, unlike the 6am starts they can expect for the rest of their time at the Academy. After breakfast, they watch videos of their performances on the previous night, which proves to be an embarrassing experience for everybody. "How could we sound so awful?" Ainslie asks, and the others agree that there is much improvement needed. But, they soon realise how hard the experience is going to be at their first singing lesson. Vocal teacher Carrie Grant was perfectly blunt in her opinion of their performance. She brands it "the worst singing [she] has ever seen on television in a long time", and tells the students that they need a reality check if they ever want to succeed.

Later that day, the students are invited to perform some of their own compositions to the others, and a performance by Lemar leaves some of the others slightly nervous about their own abilities. Nigel admits that he wonders why he was ever picked when he hears Lemar sing.

On Sunday, the group are awoken at 6am, on a day that will see them performing their first dancing lessons. Nigel gets frustrated when he can't get his moves right. Dance teacher Kevin is not happy about him giving up so easily, and makes it clear that he cannot keep punishing himself every time he makes a mistake, because it will bring his overall quality down. Meanwhile, Camilla works excellently during the one-on-one vocal sessions, and Carrie jokes that she won't feel comfortable teaching such a talented student! Later, Headteacher Richard gets tough when he realises that nobody has read the rulebook yet, which is unacceptable in his view!

And the most painful part of Monday is the student grading. After the teachers meet up to discuss everybody's performance, the results are announced to the group. The three students on probation this week will be Nigel, Pippa and Ashley. The teachers agreed that Pippa lacks confidence, and Nigel only has one key in his voice. On the other hand, Marli is the first Grade-A student, because she is not only a good singer, but is thirsty for more challenges! There three contestants singing for survival practise their solos for Friday, after some tears and tantrums.moreless
