Episode 4
AIRED:
As a new day dawns on the Fame Academy, the stress and tension increases dramatically. Malachi gets into trouble when dancing teacher Kevin realises that he doesn't know his lyrics, and scolds Malachi for wasting his time. Malachi is forced to admit that he went to be early on the previous night. But, Marli, the week's Grade A student isn't doing much better either. She has to peform a solo on Friday's live show, and worries that the public will laugh at her. She fears that the public will doubt her position as Grade A student, but Ainslie comforts her, telling her that she is brilliant and needs to take compliments better. And Ainslie has drama himself later on, when his sweating problem in dance lessons forces him to shave off his armpit hair! Meanwhile, the number one concern for staff is Naomi's voice, or rather the lack of it. Forcing out high notes has turned her voice to nothing more than a gristle. "If she's not going to sing on this Friday's show, she definitely needs to sing next week or we need to look at whether she's fit for this Academy," Carrie tells the other teachers, stressing that she needs to see a specialist soon. The next day, Ashley, Pippa and Nigel, practise their solos for Friday as the three students on probation. Nigel says that he was shocked to be put on probation, but is now ecstatic to be performing in front of the nation. Meanwhile, Naomi goes to see her specialist, who scolds her for forcing out high notes with abusive techniques. He orders her not to speak, but adds that she has a chance of recovering. She returns to the Academy in tears, as the teachers hold an emergency meeting. Naomi fears that this is the end of her time in the Academy. However, the teachers announce that she will have to sit out Friday's live showdown, but will be able to play the guitar alongside Marli. And the night ends with the students discussing each other's bad habits - Nigel doesn't seem too happy about the girls calling him bossy, but Katie tells him that he has been getting better lately. And then the students go to bed, with one day left until Friday's performance.moreless
