While he's away on business, Bill's lady friend, Julie Parrish, leaves a sample of pre-Columbrian art, of which she is an expert, as a surprise gift. Of course, while on the phone with him Jody and Buffy spoil the surprise. Before Bill returns home, the twins take it to school for show-and-tell without bothering to ask permission, and leave it over the weekend. No sooner do they return with it than klutzy Jody drops it, shattering it to pieces. They can't put it back together, and they're terrified of telling the truth, so they get the strange idea of making a duplicate out of clay. To their amazement, it turns out perfectly, but things start to get out of hand when it's put on display at a museum. When an art expert offers Bill a large sum of money for it, he is hesitant, but accepts. Then, when the twins finally get the courage to tell him the truth, he is amused, rather than angry, that two simple little kids could fool all the experts with a forgery. Julie, however, is not amused. Her pride has been hurt. She is supposed to be an expert, yet she, like the other experts, couldn't tell a forgery made by two amateurs from the real thing. She calls it quits with Bill, but the twins and Cissy visit her to smooth things over, which impresses her, and leave her the remains of the original in hopes that she can somehow put it back together.
