Episode 1742
AIRED:
Pete can't get the police's accusations out of his mind. Eileen thinks that he's going to drive himself insane. He believes that it's someone close to him but doesn't suspect for a minute that it could be his new wife . . . Later, Pete and Eileen figure out that it was Sadie who'd told the police that Pete and Eileen hadn't come from the pub. Eileen confronts Sadie who apologises and offers to change her statement, Eileen tells her not to do that because it'll look suspicious. Pete has a go at Dave in the street. Dave tells him that everyone knows that Pete did it. Pete threatens to kill Dave if it's him who's setting him up. Eileen breaks them up saying that it won't do Pete any good if the police find out that he's been fighting in the street. Cheryl visits Dave and tells him that she's been cleared after the inquiry when she didn't tell the police that Jake was skipping bale. Dave was pleased to hear it and asked her if there was any chance of them getting back together. She said that she couldn't bear to even think about a relationship until Jake's trial is over, Dave points out that could be months away. Jake overhears the conversation. Kelly moves in with Benji. Later, Justin bumps into Kelly at the shop. Before they could start talking Benji interrupts their conversation. Later, Denise visits Kelly and Benji to bring them a house warming present. Yasmin tells Marc that Trevor has a new girlfriend. Marc says that's unlikely and points out that Trevor's gay. Yasmin seems surprised. Jake leaves Lucy's without saying goodbye. When they get to the court Jake tells Dave and his solicitor that he's pleading not guilty. Cameron and Lewis show up at the courthouse, as does Lucy who's upset that Jake didn't say goodbye and tells him that he doesn't have to go through this alone. Later, Cameron asks Jake how he's pleading. Jake says not guilty and asks Cameron if he thinks that's the right decision. Cameron advised him to change his plea. In the dock, Jake confirmed his name. The judge asked him to confirm his plea of not guilty but Jake said he'd like to change his plea to guilty. He whispered briefly with his solicitor who then confirmed that Jake's plea would be guilty. Dave and Lucy couldn't believe it, Cameron didn't look that surprised.moreless
