hey guys... I personally think that the 80's was the best decade for music, and it seems like the Family Guy Crew feels the same way. They use a lot of popular 80's songs in random episodes. Can you guys list the songs, and which episode they are in? I will actually like to create a playlist on my Ipod named "Family Guy" with these songs in it.

    I'll start:

    Episode = Jungle Love

Song = Wham - "Wake me up before you Go Go" (song by Chris Griffin)

Peanut Butter Jelly Time isn't from the 80s, so it doesn't qualify for the playlist.

I don't know what the song is called, but there's one in The King Is Dead where Peter talks about "a steel town girl on a Saturday night looking for the fight of her life" and then Diane Simmons starts dancing to some old 80s song.

The only music I know from the 80s is Back In Black (AC/DC), Bleach (Nirvana) and some other rock stuff. The only reason I knew this was from the 80s is because I'd heard the tune on American Pie 3, when Stifler was dancing to 80s music in the gay bar.

Cool topic, I'll add to the list.

Let's Go To The Hop - Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me"

The ending sequence and song is an homage to The Breakfast Club, the quintessential 80's movie.

Here's all the songs that I can remember from Family Guy, that have either been sung with the original lyrics, or parodied, with the year of original publication/recording/performance

    from the 1980's

Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up (1987)
    Journey - Don't Stop Believin' (1981)
Wham! - Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go (1983)
Taco - Puttin' On The Ritz (1982) -- the song was originally composed in 1929, I think
    The Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) (198
    A-Ha - Take On Me (1985)
Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes - Up Where We Belong (1983)
    AC/DC - Back In Black (1980)
Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me) (1985)

    Other songs
    The B-52's - Rock Lobster (1979)
Alice Cooper - No More Mr Nice Guy (1973)
    MC Hammer - Can't Touch This (1990)
Scott Joplin - The Entertainer (1902)
The Buckwheat Boyz - Peanut Butter Jelly Time (2000-ish)
Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newly - Pure Imagination (1971)
Kiev University Students - Carol of the Bells (1916)
Katherine K. Davis - Little Drummer Boy (1941)
Leroy Anderson - Sleigh Ride (194

Any one know any other songs?

Cool!! Besides getting the songs for the playlist, this thread makes me want to go watch the episodes again to see how/when the song is being performed. Keep it up guys...much appreciated

In Road to Rhode Island, Stewie calls home and dials "867-5309." Then, he yells, "Damn you Tommy Tutone!" I love it. So, if you count that, I add Tutone, "867-5309" to your list.
