    OK, according to

    http://epguides.com/FamilyGuy/

we have just finished Season 5. However, many are saying that this is just the end of season 4. Which is it? The sites sawy we've finished season 5... If that is so, will there be a Season 6 any time? Or is that finished for Family Guy.

Is there any rumours as to how many season there will be overall?

There were around 27 epidsodes that air this year. On average a TV season should be around 20. But the reason for difference between season 4 and season 5 is the release of the Season 4 DVD box set.

The Season 4 Box Set was released very early on to capitalize on the media frenzy caused by the return of the show. Jungle Love was the last episode in the box set so that can be considered the final episode of the Season 4.

Season 6 should be airing around fall of 2006, just like the other TV shows.

Season 5 will start fall 2006 not Season 6. There are 30 episodes of the 4th season, so any site that is telling you that we just ended season 5 is wrong. Check Fox's official Family Guy site and go to the episode guide,  you will see all episodes up until now under the Season 4 section.

To all people who are confused

    Season 1: 1999

    Season 2: 1999-2000

    Season 3: 2001-2002

    Season 4: 2005-2006

    Season 5: 2006-2007

And the episodes on the dvds have nothing to do with the Season's run. A lot of shows with 30 episodes for a Season split the Box sets up into 2 volumes (like the first Season of Blue Collar TV)

Ok, if i understand you guys correctly, we just finished Season 4,
& Season 5 will start next Fall.

This mean that Sunday May 21, there will be no episode, is that right?

Cause its kinda confusing, on that page it says there will be an episode (the Movie) on May 21st:

SO if I understand this correctly, the next Family Guy Box Set to be released will be Season 4 Part 2 or whatever?

You'd think they could at least lower the price considering Volume 3 is about half as full with materials as the other. (Reason why I haven't purchased it yet)

Yeah true but Volume 3 has a lot more extras plus commentaries on 10 out of the 13 episodes which is better then the 2 commentaries per disc on the first 2 boxsets.

So they are going to include the Family Guy movie in the Volume 4 DVD.  What was the point of selling the movie separately then, because it seems to me that I wasted my money buying the movie back in September.

I think it's pretty stupid to use a movie as a season finale in the first place.

Yeah, Volume 4 will include the movie as 3 separate edited episodes exactly like they aired on tv. The DVD basically was a waste then but it did have scenes that were not aired on tv.

I wont be too surprised if it's not on the DVD. What's your source that they'll be on it?
