Death grants Peter's wish to go back in time to 1984 when he was 18, but only for one night. He ends up bailing on a date with Lois to hang out with a movie actress. When he returns to the present, he soon realizes that everything is anything but normal, as he is now married to the former actress, and Lois is with Quagmire. Meanwhile, Stewie, Chris and Meg have also taken on Quagmire's charming characteristics.

I liked everything about the episode, i reccomend it to any fan of the show.

  • Good episode.

This episode was like one of the best episodes made by the creators of Family Guy.I loved it when Peter was playing Ms Pac-Man and she yelled at the ghost for following her. That was like the funniest moment of this episode.I loved it when Peter punched the Chicken while dancing and that guy said that he will never see him again.I defently loved that part or any other part in this episode. It was a very funny episode and it was a very best episode made by one of the funniest shows made by a best very good super made show.
  • Love This Episode!

I love when shows have these type of time travel episodes. I just love the overall genre of time travel. Its interesting to see it and how every show may take on the subject. Peter is really numb (I'm trying not to use "dumb"!).

Its seems Lois would be the woman to end Quagmire's "Dog days" as shown by the alternate future. I love when Death appears. He's really funny! The Jetson's skit was awesome! He really owned his wife! Seeing the future better without Lois and Peter was really interesting and funny! Stewie, Meg, and Chris as Quagmire's kids would look..................interesting, lol! Overall really good episode and one of my perfect favorites, especially the Back to The Future parody!
  • I didn't think it was anything special

With Death's help, Peter goes back to 1984, to the time when he was a teenager. There, he breaks a date with Lois to spend time with Cleveland, and instead he eventually gets a date with Molly Ringwald. Back in the present, Peter and Molly are married, and Lois in turn is Married to Quagmire. Now Peter and Brian must go back in time with death to fix all things.

Sorry, I didn't think it was good. It wasn't "best of the season" or anything like that, to me at least. The only part I genuinely liked was the end when Peter and Lois got back together. The rest I didn't like much at all. C- or so
  • Without a doubt, The best Episode of the Season!

"Meet the Quagmires" is a great idea. With pisstakes from "Back to The Future" and the Griffin children with Quagmire chins. A few great characters such as Death, Quagmire, 80's Cleveland, 80's Lois and of cource Peter and Brian. A Great list of Characters to fill up the episode. A fantastic story line, and some absolutely great jokes such as the realy funny pisstake on the Jetsons intro. My favourite part is when Peter keeps on trying to get his "asking out Lois" speach right, but keeps on asking Death to go back in time so that he can try it again. He does it like 7 times.
  • A funny Quagmire-centric episode

    9.0

In this episode, Peter goes back in time and alters his future in what is an obvious Back to the Future pardoy. Peter ends up married to Molly Ringwald, and Lois ends up being married to Quagmire. There were many funny moments in this episode, ranging from the changes in the future from peter's altering to the Giant Chicken being at the Country dance. There were a couple weak spots in this ep, like the fact that they played the pardoy right down step by step, which got annoying by the end. However, this was overall an enjoyable episode, that I recommend watching at least once. 9/10
  • One of the worst season finales ever. It was both out of character and painful to watch at the same time.

    5.1
    "Mediocre"
This episode explained what 1984 was like and Family Guy ruined it! 1984 was the year when all the good things have happened (including the series finales of Happy Days and Three's Company and the premieres of Night Court, The Cosby Show, and Miami Vice).

The episode began when Peter, Quagmire, Joe, and Cleveland reminisce about what they did when they were 18. Joe "got all the crazy out of his system", and Peter was dating Lois the whole time. Peter then asked Death to take him back in time to be 18 again. They got transported to 1984, but we should have gone back to 1979 to see an 18-yearold Peter Griffin. I only liked the part when Peter slapped Cleveland 8 times and Cleveland asked Peter to meet at an address where they'll slap a 9th time. Then we see "18-year-old" Lois walking in a black bathing suit along the pool (which reminded me of Knots Landing). Afrer Lois dove into the pool, she already made plans with Peter to go see Zapped! (A 1982 film), but Peter just started making plans with Cleveland. Peter made out with Molly Ringwald at the bar and things just got worse from there. Peter finds out that he's married to Ringwald, and Peter rushes over to Quagmire's house. Lois' quote: "Mr. Griffin, what I do with my husband is none of your business." hurt my feelings. Lois is married to Quagmire. I didn't like it because they have too much sex. Then we go to the living room where Brian points out the turn of events which caused the big mishap. At dinner, we see Meg, Chris, and Stewie with Quagmire chins, and boy, do they look ugly! After Peter planned to go back to 1984 to right the wrong, we see a spoof of the Jetsons opening credits. It started normally, but when Judy is about to go to the shopping centre to buy some groceries, she is stopped by George, who sees that she took George's wallet instead of the small sum of money. after that, death sent Peter back to 1984 to correct the problem, he attempted this three times, but at the last, Death put him off as Peter goofed off dancing at the St. Elmo's Clam. At the Newport Country Club Dance, Peter was crawling in a vent talking to Brian about "Die Hard" (which wasn't released until 1988). Peter broke through the vent snd crushed the guitar player. After Lois told Peter to leave her and Quagmire alone, this hurt Peter's feelings. So Peter decided to punch Quagmire and kiss Lois, making things right again. I especially like what Brian described as a "song by a gay guy". Back at the present day (2005 or so?), things are back to normal again, except Roger from American Dad! showed up.

This is a hugely mediocre episode for Family Guy. They shouldn't have ruined the ages of Peter and Lois because by doing so, they should have made Meg, Chris, and Stewie look older than their usual ages. When it first premiered on Adult Swim, I expected a TV-MA rating and instead of this, it showed a TV-14-DL rating and because of this, I looked at Knots Landing clips on YouTube.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally, Family Guy is back to the quality I love. I loved this episode and I'm so glad I'll be going through the break remembering this episode and not last week's episode. The references to other things in this episode was good, including Roger from American Dad appearing at the end of the episode. The reference to Back to the Future was fairly funny and I really enjoyed the final scene of the series. It was interesting to discover how the lives of the Griffins would have turned out if things were different. The funniest thing of the episode was the giant chicken.

This is my all-time favourite episode, I just watched it, and I loved it!!! This episode called me back to the classic years i.e. seasons 1-3. I cracked up every two seconds and have now lost my voice. This is a classic episode. I luv the redesign on the Griffin kids to make them look like Quagmire and Lois' children(a big chin, pointy nose, etc.) and peter in the retro version of the Drunken Clam dancing with Cleveland to an old song and humming along to it, Hilarious!!!, also my favourite moment in the episode and probaply in the series was when eighteen-year-old Lois was introduced, my reaction was the same as Brian's **bong!!! Elugah!!! Owww!!!**So I have a new favourite Family Guy episode. Brilliant!!! The series is on it's way back to the show I loved in seasons 1-3.

this was probably one of the absolute worst episodes family guy I have ever seen especaily for a season finaly witch is supposed to be great.

peter wants to go back in time to have sex with molly ringwald but the problem is when that happens he eventualy screws up th future he ends up marring molly ringwald who by now is about as ugly as ugly can get but since he did what he did he made the world a better place despite that he pleads with death to send him back death does butb peter just keeps on screwing up again and again and againuntil daeth is fed up with peters utter stupidity

    in retrospect this episode terrible
  • Season 5, Episode 18.

Pretty funny episode. I loved the whole Wheel of Fortune thing.

    Peter: Uhm... Z... 4... Q... Another Q... A third Q... And the Batman symbol.

Haha, he didn't get anything and he still figured out the puzzle. Family Guy is so great. Wow, Quagmire in love. That was only 5 seasons in the making. LMAO at those obnoxious seals or walruses or whatever they were. I can't believe Quagmire proposed after three weeks.

Peter: Ashton Kutcher, come here.(Peter throws a tomahawk at Ashton Kutcher.) You've just been tomahawk'd. That's my show. Tomahawk'd.

LMAO! Great episode! "Hate is a word we don't use in this house." HAHA. Great episode.

Good episode that was intresting, but it's been done before. It was pretty obvious what would happen but it put a nice twist on things. It is a very very very very unoriginal plot. They need more insight of that guy Brian was fighting with.(Like what happened to him. But It was good I'll watch it again Quagmires funny, and a good idea to bring a good c haracter like Death back, he is funny. Go go go go go go go gog go go chicken guy. He cracks me up and I thought cleveland dancing was also pretty funny.
  • I'm glad this episode was used to close the season...

..and I'm also glad "Stewie Loves Lois" was used as the season opener (see my review on that episode). Death grants Peter's wish to go back in time to 1984 when he was 18, but only for one night. He ends up bailing on a date with Lois to hang out with Cleveland. When he returns to the present, he soon realizes that everything is anything but normal, as he is now married to a former actress, and Lois is with Quagmire. I loved the Jetsons' sketch and Peter dancing to Beverly Hills Cop. Death was great as usual, Brian playing the keyboard/guitar (not sure of the name) was hilarious especially his high note as everyone stares blankly at him. And the Griffin kids look horrifyingly like Quagmire!! Thank god things are back to normal...well, normal for Family Guy. Bring on Blue Harvest!!!
  • Back To The Future and The Simpsons have been here before.

    5.0
    "Mediocre"
I understand that a show like Family Guy thrives on taking the mickey out of other shows, but this episode is just a collection of ideas from other shows. The Simpsons certainly have used the principle of making a character change the time line, with hilarious consequences. (Because that show tries to stick somewhat closer to reality, it uses the Halloween episodes to enter the territory of horror and sci-fi.) The Back To The Future trilogy did the same thing (ironically enough in the same mid-eighties that Family Guy mocks here).

So what did this episode add to all of those instances? Some digs at the culture of the decade that taste forgot? I felt this entire enterprise was the result of the writers' lazy day.
  • Finally a decent episode to say Thank God for Family Guy.

Peter, hearing Quagmire brag about his sexual exploits, feels that he has missed out on enjoying the single lifestyle. Death is summoned to the Drunken Clam on a false alarm, and he grants Peter's wish by sending him (along with Brian) back to 1984 for one night. Appearing to others as his 18-year-old self, Peter cancels his scheduled movie date with Lois Pewterschmidt, instead accepting an invitation from Cleveland to go and party at a bar. Peter enjoys the evening, and is making out with future actress Molly Ringwald when Death appears to return him to the present.

Back in the present day, Peter discovers that his past actions have had drastic effects on the world: he and Molly have been married for 20 years; Lois is married to Quagmire; Chris, Meg, and Stewie have Glenn's chin and mannerisms; Chevy Chase is host of The Tonight Show; and Al Gore is President of a much wealthier, cleaner, safer, better educated and more technologically advanced United States where he killed Osama Bin Laden who was hiding within the cast of MADtv. Dick Cheney, who is just known as the chairman of Halliburton, has just shot dead Antonin Scalia, Karl Rove, and Tucker Carlson. Brian explains to Peter (through use of a blackboard which strangely appeared in the living room) that by missing out on his date with Lois and making out with Molly, he altered the timeline. This scene is a copy of a scene from the film Back to the Future Part II. Over Brian's objections of that perfect world, Peter begs Death to return him to the past so he can undo his mistake. Back in the past, Peter is determined to accept Lois' invitation, but stupidly blows his opportunity again and again, repeatedly asking Death for a do-over. When Peter parties again with Cleveland instead of keeping the date, he asks Death for another chance. Death refuses to give him another mulligan, and Lois is greatly upset at Peter for missing their date. Peter and Brian sneak into the country club dance to prevent the kiss that caused Lois to fall in love with Quagmire. After Lois tells Peter that he'd had his chance and blown it, Peter almost gives up, but then demonstrates his passion by punching out Quagmire and kissing Lois, winning back her heart. He asks her to marry him, and she accepts. Peter then accidentaly bumps into Ernie the Giant Chicken, who looks at Peter angrily, but is held back by another partygoer, and told he'll probably never see Peter again anyway...

Afterwards, Peter comes back to the present day to find that his life is now just the way it was originally-except that Roger from American Dad! now seems to be living with them.

This episode is Hilarius. Whats funny that Peter Griffen is with a fat lady that she tells Peter "do you like cake" then she says "do you like my butt" then she would say do you like "cake on your butt". Whats Hilarius that Tom Cruise runs after his thought and The Jetsons when George picks Jane off because George does not want to take his whole money. His laugh when he dances is Hilarius. That Peter Griffens fart is Hilarius. The music of Never Gonna Give You Up is brilliant and so does the other musics from The Family Guy episode of Meet Qaugmire. This episode is when Peter and his dog goes in 1984 then had messed up 1984 with not having Lois anymore but then they went back to 1984 when they saw Jane dead on the floor then Death took Peter and his dog back to 1984 to rearrange the problem. This episode is Hilarius you will like this episode and so does the music.
  • This one reminded us that Family Guy could still do it.

    9.0
    "Superb"
By that I don't necessarily mean it was a "Pre-Season 4" episode. It was (hopefully) the beginning of a new, but still hilarious Family Guy. There were elements of the current FG (a lot of political jabs, some fillers), but they put together a fantastic episode with a solid plot. This one reminded me a lot of Death Lives in that Peter disregards Lois for something more appealing at the time, but then he learns his lesson at the end that his wife is the most important thing in the world to him. I always like these stories because they really flesh out the characters and give them more depth that the recent episodes have severely lacked in. And Brian doing "Never Gonna Give You Up" at the end was one of the best musical renditions of recent memory. The 80's element also helped out in making Meet the Quagmires the best episode of this season.

This epsipode is one of my absoulute faveroites in the sereis. (besides PTV and acouple other epsodes) there is some good parts where peter goes back in time and he keeps messing up things by doing who knows what. (I wonder what keeps giong through his mind there when he talks to louis.) Also at the neer middle ofthe show where they get back to the future his daughter (well Meg isn't relly his daughter)starts hitting on her un-father. This epsoide just goes to show us that the family guy world isn't what it semes like when we look at it, bu it's still one of my faveorites:)

  • This episode was one of the best i've seen. It is a great episode and very entertaining. It has a brilliant story line with many jokes.

    9.4
    "Superb"
The episode begins at the local bar 'The Drunken Clam' where the bar tender suffers an almost fatal accident. This brings along death to the scene. Before this however Peter Griffin is talking with his group of friends about how he wished he had done more when he was 18. So when death shows up he asks if he can go back in time and re-live when he was 18. Death reluctantly agrees but only for one evening. So Peter goes back in time unfortunately he decides not to go to his date with Louis and ends up with another woman. This as a result effects the future as he is not married to Louis but to the other woman. Louis meanwhile is married to Quagmire one of Peters best mates. As Peter suffers from this the rest of the world has been made better. Peter, though, does not like this so asks death to go back in time again and eventually after several failed efforts due to peter resulves the situation and makes everything normal again.

Throughout the episode it is filled with awesome jokes and funny flash backs. The story line is perfect to make a great comedy story. I would recomend this to anyone who has the oppertunity to watch it as it is soo funny and entertaining.

This was a pretty good episode. Any of you readers ever get the feeling you wish you did more before getting married? Well that's the feeling Peter got in this episode, and he went back in time, thanks to Horace's collapse at the Clam, and then women's sports coming on ESPN. Death just wanted to get out of there, so he granted Peter his wish. One thing great about this episode was there was no subplot. I don't mind a good subplot, but this episode wouldn't work out with one. Peter goes back in time, he goes clubbing with his buddy Cleveland, while his other buddy Quagmire is moving in on his woman. Peter gets sidetracked at the clubs, with my favorite part of the episode "ih hih hih hih hih hih and another hih hih hih hih". I'm not absolutely sure on the rythym. It was a great episode, and it worked as a season finale for sure!
  • Back to the Future 4: When Peter Met Lois Definitely the best season finales so far to a very average but funny season.

    10
    "Perfect"
"Meet the Quagmires" is probably one of my favorite episodes of all time. In terms of the writing and plots the episode redeemed the show from a very so-so season even though there were some pretty good episodes like "The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou" and "Airport 07" and also some not so good ones like "Mother Tucker" and "Hell Comes to Quahog". When I watched the episode for the first time, I had very low expectation which I usually have with TV shows I like since I don't want to be disappointed and this was definitely a satisfying and funny episode. I loved the cheesy 80's nostalgia and the oh so many "Back to the Future" callbacks which is fine by me since I loved the movies and love how Family Guy loves to parody pop culture.

The one thing that sticks out is when Brian sings "Never Gonna Give You Up" a very well-known 80s song by Rick Astley instead of Johnny B. Goode which was in the BTF movies and was very unexpected. Plus Lois marrying Quagmire: not in this universe. The cutscenes were also very funny such as Peter's goldfish dying, being Joe Piscopo's personal trainer and the stalling at St. Elmo's Clam (ha!) while dancing to Axel F, the theme to Beverly Hills Cop.

Family Guy's quality is still evident with these two past episodes (even though "It Takes a Village" got an 8, I still thought it was pretty good). Hopefully MacFarlane and Co. will make more episodes like this and not go too long and become like The Simpsons which has gone on forever with some pretty average episodes.
  • The Jetsons, Menstral Ms. Pacman, Peter messing up on getting Lois back is just the beggining of the greatness that is Meet the Quagmires.

This may be the best Family Guy ever. Perhaps this is what the series needed to get back on a good side. Not too many flashbacks and they were all great. It seems to me that Peter and Lois shouldn't be married, but if that was true, it wouldn't be Family Guy. I also know now why the chicken gave Peter a bad coupon, Peter punched him! "Easy buddy, you're probobly never going to see him again."
  • Peter wants his life come back in 1984 when he was 18 year old. Peter asks Death man and he said, "I want my life come back in 1984." Death man said, "Only for one night." Finally, Peter's life is back

Brian was going there with Peter too. Brian think Lois is hot because she was so young. But Peter does not think Lois is hot and he doesn’t care about her. Lois asks Peter that she wants going movie with him. Peter said, "No." Lois felt sad and heartbreak. It's because she really like him. Later Peter had a fun with his black best friend and dance then Peter was making out with other girl. Her name was Molly. So Peter had a fun for one night. Oh no! Peter woke up at morning and he think Lois was there on his bed but it not! It was Molly! Peter was worried too much! I was shocked that Lois was married to Quagmires and Stewiwe, Meg, and Chris was there too! Peter felt heartbreaker. So Peter wants talk to Death man but how can Death man can show up there. Lucky, one lady fell on floor from sky. Peter asks Death man. But Death man said, “no." But Peter said, please. Finally, Peter comes back in 1984. And try asking Lois out. Finally, she accepts it. Oh no! Peter forgot about Lois. Then Peter went to Lois's house and she said, “I don't want you back Peter." It's because she was going with Quagmires for prom. Finally, Peter punch Quagmires's face then takes Lois back then Peter asks Lois will you be my wife. Finally, everyone is normal and no more crazy normal. This episode is so awesome!
  • Peter missed time partying as he spent all of his youth years with lois. Peter goes back in time but misses a date with lois. Then to make it better for peter lois dumps him. when peter arrives back to the present time he is married to someo

    10
    "Perfect"
After a long string of mediocre episodes Family Guy returns to form for the season finale. With a great storyline and the right combination of irrelevant and relevant jokes, "Meet the Quagmires" manages to capture some of the appeal from the pre-cancellation days.

With the return appearance of Death, Peter convinces the scythe-bearing creature to take him back in time to when he was 18-years-old. Peter felt like he missed out on having a fun single life because he spent all of his youth with Lois. After being sent to the past, Peter decides to brush off Lois and instead party away with a long haired Michael Jackson-jacket-wearing Cleveland. He ends up making out with The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink star Molly Ringwald.

As with any good time travel story, this decision alters the future and when Peter returns to the present, he finds out that he's married to Molly Ringwald, and Lois is married to none other than Quagmire. In fact, Lois' children look like their real universe counterparts, except the fact that they all have Glen's jaw structure. That's not the only change though - in this alternate future, Al Gore is the President and apparently all is well in the world, with flying cars that run on vegetable oil. This leads to a hilarious segment that parodies the introduction to the Jetsons, where George decides to take back his wallet from Jane, instead of letting her go shopping with it. This leads to her falling out of the car, conveniently in front of Peter and Brian.
  • Peter goes back in town to sew his wild oats, but ends up losing Lois.

A very strong episode, filled with pop culture references. Peter goes back in time to 1985 to sew his wild oats, but ends up losing Lois instead. When he returns to the present, he finds that Lois is now married to Quagmire. Stewie, Chris and Meg as Quagmires, with the Quagmire jaws, is hilarious. And Peter's escapades back in the eighties, chock full of cultural references, make this a fun episode. Culminating with Lois' country club dance, in an homage to "Back To The Future". This episode was a solid story with great gags.

This episode was amazing all the Back to the Future refrences and the fact that brian sang rick asleys never gonna give you up made me laugh untill i cried. The plot was awsome with peter going back in time to try to have fun and coming back to the present and waking up the next morning realizing that instead of marring lois he married molly ringwald and having to go back in time again like back to the future and saving his marrage with lois. This episode was perfect to end the season on thanks seth mcfarlane and all the writing staff.

    "Superb"
This was overall a good episode a good way to end the series since some of season 5 was kind of bland. The refrences were good. The jokes were funny. The story line was originsl. Family Guy will continue to go forth and many fans will line up and watch family guy til it dies. I would only say the should of added more of "roger" I wonder if its just going to be a thing in one episode or if there going to incorperate american dad with the griffins. I can't wait til next season. I hope this review gives u an idea how good this episode was
  • Truly a great episode, with a Back to the future Theme.

    9.6
    "Superb"
This is by far my favorite episode. The whole story is based off of my favorite movie. Back To The Future. Only a true BTTF fan can find HUDREDS of quotes and "just likes" to the movie. The joke "Ronald Reagan the actor" kick started the BTTF rift, and once the chalkboard scene when Brian is talking about the space time continuum, came on I realized that there was more to come. And who can’t love Peter dancing to "axel f" TWICE. They have truly out done themselves for a GREAT season finale.
