After Peter complains about playing Trivial Pursuit at a game night, Lois replaces Peter's questions with ones from the preschool edition so he'll be able to enjoy a victory. When Peter wins, he starts thinking he's a genius and lets it go to his head. Brian, knowing of the question-switching, makes Peter get an IQ test to prove it. After the test, however, it emerges that Peter is mentally retarded.

At first Peter thinks his life will go terribly, but after being let off after a car crash, he starts to take advantage of his status. Soon, while Lois is in the hospital under a coma, he is declared unfit to take of care of the kids, their care being handed over to Cleveland. Peter files a lawsuit, but loses, and begins to think that life will never be he same. Soon, however, Lois recovers from the coma and regains custody of the kids.
