  • Great superb episode of Family Guy!

After Lois' aunt dies from a heart attack, she gives Lois her Cherrywood Mansion, and the whole family moves from Quahog to Cherrywood and everybody starts acting different from all the money they've inherited.
Although the episode is sugary sweet junkfood,it is very tasty. A great start to season 2.
  • Perfect start for season 2 of FG

Lois' Aunt dies and leaves her the Cherrywood Mansion. The family moves in to the new mansion in Newport only to lose their fortune after Peter makes an extravagant purchase at a charity auction. This episode was perfect. One of the best episodes I've seen from the early seasons. Almost everything were great and hilarious. I laughed/liked Peter complaining about Lois' aunt, then she suddenly dies, the song (a tad long though but I would rather hear this song than to hear Mr. Booze), most of the cutaways, Stewie's appearance (once again, very funny), Brian's part when he was drunk, Brian saying "I'm your father," to Peter, and a few others. Overall score 10/10. WAY better than Lottery Fever, which reuses this episode's idea.
  • Perfect Season 2 premiere.

What I liked- "WHO SAID MARGUARETE??", Margurete unexpectly dying, the "This House is Freakin' Sweet" song, Peter dancing with Margurete's dead body then dropping her and saying "Oh my god, she's dead."

    A perfect episode

Lois' aunt gives her the Cherrywood Mansion, and Peter reveals that he sold their old house so they could move in the mansion for good. But Peter, and the children, start acting really spoiled, and all Lois wants is for things to go back to the way they were.

Decent episode. The song was the best part, probably, and I liked Peter embarrassing Lois at dinner, and Brian trying to help Peter become a sophisticated man. Somewhere near the end though I lost interest and got kind of bored. But for the most part this was a pretty good episode, my final grade is a B- or so.
  • When Lois' aunt dies, her aunt gives the Griffin family her mansion

I thought that this was an excellent Season 2 premiere of "Family Guy". It was funny and it was well written. The cutaways were very funny in this episode especially the horse cutaway. The Griffin family moving in Lois' aunt's mansion after Peter sold the house in Quahog was a very good idea. Stewie's part in this episode was absolutely hilarious when he kept ordering the butlers to do something for him such cut his eggs. Peter at the dinner with the other rich people and Peter talking about the Mexican rat and everyone losing their appetites was hilarious. The song "I freakin' love this house" was a very funny and pretty cool song. Peter bidding a million dollars for a piece of art at the auction was very funny. Brian doing the Stars Wars thing to make Peter snap out of it and make Peter back to his self was funny. Peter being some kind of gentleman at the party was also funny. I also thought the end of the episode was pretty funny as well. Overall, this was an excellent Season 2 premiere of "Family Guy". 10/10
  • Season two premiere

This is the season two premiere. Lois's Aunt Margurite passes away, and in the will, The Griffins get her Cherrywood Mansion. Lois wants to just spend the weekends there, but Peter sold there house back in Quahog. Peter gets kicked out of The Country Club, and wants Brian to teach him how to be a gentleman, before a fancy raffle. Meanwhile, Meg, Chris and Stewie are being catered to their every whim, espicially Stewie, who makes two servants fight to the death.

At the night of the raffle, Peter bets on a fancy piece of art, just to impress Lois, and he must sell their mansion to pay for it, so they are back at their house in Quahog.

This was a good episode. I enjoyed the one horse town, and all of Stewie's scenes.

    Overall Grade: 80%/B-

  • Lucky there's Family Guy

    8.5

Following the death of Lois's aunt; the Griffin's inherit a mansion, it isn't long before their new way of life changes them as people. If ever there was a "What if?" ground that fans would want to see, this is it. What if the Griffin's struck it rich and had to live amongst the blue bloods of Quahog? Not only is this used to its full potential here but any scene with Peter acting like a slob or snob is great. This episode's primary goal is to fill in the blanks of Lois's family and background and even how he and Peter met. In doing this they've left the door open to continuity errors and potential boredom which thankfully are absent. To fit in with the aristocratic theme; this extravagant episode features more richly coloured and detailed animation with a widespread use of music including the blisteringly funny "This house is freaking sweet" song which was nominated for an Emmy.

It's clear where the network demanded morals be squeezed into this episode as it feels out of place especially since lavishness and snobbery are basically promoted. The only point of the episode where there's the slightest plot – wise stumble is the boo – hoo scene with Peter's awareness of how being rich has affected his family but every second of tedium from this scene is wholly compensated when it's realized just what makes the mansion historic. Bow chicka wah wah. Before the series became known for the cultural references that relate to mainstream audiences; episodes like this one used very obscure references to most shows and movies that are seldom seen by watchers of cartoons. However enough laughs are supplied by the "fish out of water" premise of the Griffin's so the laughs are complemented. Often you feel the writer's relying too much on swear words and cheap filth to be funny, while it suits the generally coarse nature of the show it often makes them come across as lazy. Thankfully they are used to the degree where it is bearable. Peter, Peter Caviar Eater is jam – packed with enough hilarity to please any fan or non – fan.
  • This is without a doubt one of the best Family Guy epsidoes ever defantly in my top 3

This is without a doubt one of the best Family Guy epsidoes ever defantly in my top 3.Lois' wealthy aunt Marguerite Pewterschmidt comes to visit, but drops dead on their doorstep (much to Peter's relief-"Be careful what you wish for, eh, Lois?"). A videotaped message from Aunt Marguerite informs Lois that she has inherited Cherrywood Manor in Newport, Rhode Island. Marguerite's video is based on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous is narrated by Robin Leach. There, the Griffins receive a warm musical welcome (a parody of "I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here" from Annie) from the house's staff, who immediately leave afterward because according one of the maids "The old bag only paid us up through the song." Peter hires them back after admitting that he secretly sold their former house in Quahog.

Naturally, Peter has trouble fitting in with the blueblood cluster after disgusting everyone with a story about a rat at the yacht club, while Stewie adapts immediately to ordering servants around, even commanding two to fight to the death, to music from the James Kirk and Spock duel from the Star Trek original series episode "Amok Time" for his amusement. Peter begs Brian to teach him how to be a gentleman. After several attempts through regular methods, Brian resorts to shock therapy. When Peter arrives at a ritzy auction that night, Lois is shocked to see him behaving himself and conversing easily with the upper crust crowd. Unfortunately, he also appears to believe himself fabulously wealthy, as he nonchalantly bids $100,000,000 for a vase. After Peter bids for the vase, he puts his pinkie finger in the same manner as Dr. Evil. Peter claims to possess the Underground Railroad.Lois demands that the family return to Quahog as soon as possible; she says that she now remembered why she left Newport: because it changed people in much the same way that her family is changing. Brian is only able to snap Peter out of his delusion by comparing him to Lando Calrissian and smashing one of his Star Wars collector's glasses. Brian borrows dialogue from The Empire Strikes Back to explain to Peter he's not really a millionaire. Although Peter returns to reality, he is still $100,000,000 short on covering his auction bid when a representative from the Historical Society comes to collect. When Peter is trying to prove that millions of dollars of history happened in the mansion, he points to a note on the wall dated 51BC that states "Jesus was here" (when asked about the BC part, Peter replies "He's Jesus! He can do anything"), a large crack in the wall (which he pretends is where the Stock market crashed), and a small toy train (which he pretends is part of Harriet Tubman's Underground Railroad). After these several futile attempts to "prove" that Cherrywood Manor has enough historical value to cover the bid, Peter makes up with Lois and finds a set of hidden photographs. The pictures show several prominent American figures (including Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, and Ulysses S. Grant) at Cherrywood Manor, which was a whorehouse at the time. Not only does the discovery make Cherrywood enormously valuable, but Peter sells one of the pictures to the tabloids to repurchase their old house double what they paid.

In the end Peter no longer cares what Lois's family thinks of him, since her ancestors were nothing more than a bunch of, "pimps and whores."

My fav refrence was The scene of Peter and Lois dancing is a parody to a scene where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey are dancing in Dirty Dancing and The scene featuring the mansion's singing staff is just like the scene in Annie.
  • A stupendous episode that should be considered a series classic... This is the type of comedy real Family Guy episodes should be made of.

  • Very funny and full of truth

    8.3
    "Great"
This episode was full of classic family guy jokes and one-liners and is one of my personal favorites. Peter sells their house to pay for the maids in the new house and everyone ends up becoming snobby except louis. It confronts the issue of how people change when they come into money with hilarious results. Louis is used to all this rich stuff but the rest of the family change drastically (Except stewie he changes slighty but enough to make the point). peter losing their money by bbuying that vase was petty funny but paved the way for his attempt at tricking the national historical society that the house had emense historical value and the unveiing of the true reason behind loius' family fortune was a great joke. And It was all summed up by peters line "Your Family was nothing but a bunch of Pimps and Wh3*es
  • Peter finds out what it's like to be rich.

    9.5
    "Superb"
First excellent idea to make this the season opener for Season 2. This by far is one of my more favorite Family Guy episodes. The moments with Stewie are to die for, Peter as a rich guy is hilarious, and to add to the story we see how Lois and Peter first meet. Not only is this episode funny and entertaining it also shows that being rich ain't all it's cracked up to be. An old storyline, but here it works. On a last note, is it me or does anyone else realize that all rich people these days, in either television or movies, have a video will?
  • Why would you wanna bid $100,000,000 on a stupid vase!?

    9.3
    "Superb"
This episode was another crazy one! Lois' aunt dies and gives the Griffins' her mansion. So they move over there and live like rich people. Meanwhile, the family meet some new friends who invite them to some auction party. Peter acts really stupid at the time so Brian shocks him and makes him a smart gentleman. During the auction, Brian gets drunk and Peter and his new friend bid for a vase while Peter bids $100 million at the end of the bidding. So the family try and find a way not to buy the vase since they don't actally have that money.

Cut my eggs! Now cut my milk! I can't cut that sir, it's liquid! Well freeze it then cut it!!
  • An ok episode.

    5.6
    "Mediocre"
This episode is truly average nothing really happens, no leason learned, no real plot-they end up back where htey were in the first place. I do like one thing about this episode the song. "This house is freakin' sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!" I love this episode's musical number probaply my favourite out of the series, at least it dosen't drag on forever like the later season's ones. This is a really average episode, but my other favourite things are the Star Wars and Austin Powers referances. Not my favourite episode, it's not good & it's not bad. Family Guy has had better moments.... I would say even seasons 4-5 are better than this.
  • Not as funny as the other episodes.

    7.2
    "Good"
Lois' aunt visits the Griffins, but she dies shortly--a couple seconds as a matter of fact--after her arrival. Because of this unfortunate event the Griffins were able to inherit the Cherrywood mansion. The Griffins, outside of Lois, soon learn the influence Newport has on their lives. Peter even gets himself in a jumbo as he bought a vase in an auction for money he doesn't have! Though through luck, he was able to pay it off and buy the old house back.

There was nothing in this entire episode that made me laugh out loud. In fact, I wasn't laughing as often as I would with any other Family Guy episode. Only a couple of funny moments every so often, but the story in general was pretty decent. Family Guy does a wonderful job of making the sweetest scenes in the shortest amount of time, so there is value to look for outside of comedy in this episode.

    This is my favorite episode

It shows how Peter and Lois met at Cherrywood and why Lois did not marry and rich man. It also shows why Lois left Newport and her rich family.

It had great music, good storyline, and a funny Star Wars allusion.

This is when Family Guy was a wholesome and straightforward show. Take note of how there is actually a storyline and that you watch this episode for the story, and not for some funny 3 second joke that gives you a mild laugh once in a while. If only Seth would take note of his old seasons in order to improve the current seasons.
  • This is a sweet episode.

    9.2
    "Superb"
This is the best episode. Peter is finally rich, but not for long.

Lois's aunt dies and leaves her mansion to Lois. They use it as there summer home. When they first go there, Peter sells his house to pay for maids. Brian teaches Peter to be rich. He thinks he is a billionaire. He buys something at an auction for one hundred million dollars. He thinks he has that much money, but he doesn't. Brian breaks Peter's batman glass to get his attention. He suddenly realized what he did. Lois left him because Peter isn't the man she fell in love with. Peter tried to trick people into thinking that the mansion was famous. No one believed him. Then he found some pictures of Aberham Lincoln. The mansion was a whore house a long time ago. He gives the house to person he owed money to. Peter kept one of the pictures. He sold it to a magazine and bought his house in Quahog back.

    I give this episode a 9.2 out of 10.

This episode is really cool, when the Griffin recieve the visit from Aunt Margarite they think that they are going to get torture but as soon as she gets there she dies. So she leaves the Griffins her house in Cherrywood and that makes Peter to begin to act like a rich dude instead of how he usually acts and that makes everything even better, and I think that this episode is one of the best and a great start for season 2!!!
  • Excellent

Peter and Lois inherate the summer house of Lois's great aunt who just died. Lois tries to remain the same about it but peter and the kids think higher of themselves for having the house and the servants.

Peter then way over bids a vase he was just planning to put in the bathroom. To pay the money he owed for it he was tring to sell the house he got by making it look like it had a lot of history happened there, such has Jesus engraving his name 50 odd years before he was even born. then by accident he actually found something very historical (i'll leave that to you all to find out when you watch it)

He gets his orignal house back and everything ends up as it should be
  • Freakin' sweet. Need I say more?

    10

Lois' filthy stinking rich aunt dies and leaves her a mansion, the Griffins (or should I say Peter, Meg, Chris and Stewie) move in with no objections, Peter tries (and sucks) at being a gentleman, Brian falls in love with the massive bar, Meg and Chris go nuts with their new found wealth, Stewie makes friends with a bunch of cigar chomping guys, and the whole time Lois is trying to drill some reason into the family. It's been done so many times, but HOW FREAKIN' SWEET WAS IT!!!!!??!

The servant's song, "Lord Peter", the news Lois, who is the s___ mom personified is descended from pimps and hookers, Peter selling his family's souls for a boat; this is why I watch this show in the first place!
  • This house is freain' sweet!

    10
    "Perfect"
Peter "rich" is hilarious and a great opener for season two. There are many great gags in this episode such as Lois only liking Peter when he is a pig and the "Freakin' sweet" song.

Brian training Peter was brilliant and trying to turn him back was just as funny with the star wars speech.

Peter paying a hundred million dollars at the auction was extremely humerous and the whorehouse ending was brilliantly written with Peter's unusual moral at the end.

Overall, Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater is a very good out-of-character episodes with great scenes from Brian's wide range of alcoholic choices to Stewie using the servants for his entertainment.
  • Lois' wealthy aunt dies unexpectedly, the Griffins inherit her mansion. Peter is eager to enter the ranks of the upper classes and moves them into the house. The servants haven't been paid in months and leave the house, but it's still "Freakin' Sweet!"

    10
    "Perfect"
This is one of the episodes I haven't seen many times and from what I recall, this is one of the episodes with gag after gag. With singing in the episode, this is probably the best musical only second to Road to Rhode Island episode. Peter's wealth is once again stripped of him because of his greed, but mostly his stupidity.
