Several bits of Jerry Goldsmith's original score for "Poltergeist" are used in this episode and match up to where the piece was used in the original film, i.e., when Stewie gets out of his crib to go to the TV and the whispering scene between Lois and the medium. The music in the closing credits of this episode is an obvious parody of Goldsmith's "Carol Anne's Theme", a similar piece of music that runs over the closing credits of "Poltergeist".
