Meg's lunch An orange peel, a picture of Lois eating a turkey leg, and the cut-off crusts of Chris' peanut butter and jam sandwich. (Whoever packed Meg's lunch either forgot about her peanut allergy or was actively trying to kill her.)
This episode reveals that Kevin Swanson, Joe's son, died in Iraq, explaining his sudden disappearance from the show (also, in the DVD commentary for Peter's Two Dads, the creator Seth MacFarlane said that he was a very boring character). However, this is later retconned in Season 10 by stating that Kevin was MIA (Missing in Action).
(the built-up Stewie is flexing around Brian and talking non-sensibly)
Stewie: Ooh! I am hotter than phone-sex with a blind girl! (scene cuts away to a man and woman on phone)
Man: So....what are you wearing?
Woman: I don't know.
Principal: (to Connie) Connie, the person who humiliated you has been humiliated. By the rules of High School, you are now popular again.
Meg: (To Connie about Chris) When we're done with him, he'll be more of an outcast than a seagull at a Adam Sandler movie. (Cut to a movie theatre that's playing "Adam Sandler in The 35-year-old Bicycle Delivery Boy") Adam Sandler: This is my old bicycle that I had from when I was ten. (A seagull is seen in the theatre squaking with laughter) Sometimes the banana seat hurts my hiney. (the seagull laughs again) Man in theatre: Will you shut up? Seagull: You shut up man, it's a comedy. Adam Sandler: When I ring the bell it makes my pants feel funny. Ring-ring-ring. (The seagull laughs again)
Peter: I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse! (scene cuts to Peter in bed with a horse) I, er... I misspoke.
Stewie: Doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, B to the rian, all that matters is that you beat the leprechauns. Brian: That doesn't even make any sense! Stewie: When your muscles are this strong, it doesn't have to make any sense!
Peter: Look at that Connie. So young and live. Look at the shape of that body. Look at the shape of that body! (Peter Pulls out an old medallion) Peter: That's it Brian, that's where One-eyed Willie buried his gold!
Ambien The pills Lois leaves with Meg, also called Zolpidem, are perscribed for short-term insomnia treatment. It was approved for sale in the US in 2007. Side effects include nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, anterograde amnesia (the inability to produce new memories), poor motor coordination, increased appetite, changes in libido, impaired judgement, and lack of inhibition. Overdose leads to comas and, predictably, death.
Stewie: I HAVE THE POWER! This is a reference to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Stewie: And now here's something we hope you'll really like! This is a reference to the 70's cartoon Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Chris: Would you do me? Chris' home movie of his "dance" is a reference to the movie Silence Of The Lambs, where Buffalo Bill does the same thing.
Peter: That's where One-Eyed Willy buried his gold! This is a reference to the 80's movie The Goonies.
Stewie: (singing) I've got veins, they carry blood all over my body... This is a reference, and sung to the tune of the Carly Simon song "You're So Vain."
