After an interview at Brown University, Meg realizes she needs more extra-curricular activities. She joins every club and even tries cheerleading, but fails miserably at them all. Finally, she decides to join the school newspaper.''After many failed stories, Peter fabricates a story regarding actor Luke Perry and uses Meg's byline. Meg and Peter soon become embroiled in a headline-grabbing lawsuit when Luke sues them for defamation of character. This episode is very underrated and I wonder why everyone doesn't like this episode very much. It wasn't perfect though but it was enjoyable though. Meg's plot was a tad boring but I did like Neil's part, Peter trying to race, Peter trying to think Luke's gay, and the ending. I thought the beginning was very funny (all the parts). Stewie's plot was super funny throughout and that's simpliy another reason why he was 10 times funnier than in the new episodes. Overall, a superb episode. 9/10
  • Not one of the best, but still great for the most part.

I thought this was a pretty good episode. The humor was pretty great for the most part, but I think I liked Stewie's plot a lot more than the main one. I thought it was hilarious how Stewie was using the device to control Chris throughout the episode, and Chris chasing Stewie with the ax in the background while Meg and Lois were talking made me laugh pretty hard. Meg's plot just wasn't as interesting to me, though, and the only parts that really made me laugh in her plot were Peter trying to seduce Luke Perry and the ending. Still, for the most part this was a pretty decent episode, but it wasn't one of the best of season 2 in my opinion. Final grade: B. Marebear2009, out!

    What I liked:

    - Peter going DAN DAN DAN

    -Peter humming mission impossible

-Peter trying to seduce Luke Perry

  • Meg realizes that she needs more extra-curricular activities after an interview with Brown University

I thought that this was an excellent episode of "Family Guy" and I thought that it was very funny. The beginning of the episode was very funny. It was very funny when Meg gets an interview with Brown University and realizes that she needs more extra-curricular activities in order to get accepted to Brown University. It was very funny when Stewie puts a remote behind Chris so he can control Chris. It was hilarious when Chris went into the store and Stewie was controlling Chris which freaks out the cash register guy. Mayor West asking Meg "Are you Sarah Connor?" was gold. It was very funny when Peter switched Meg's story and wrote a story about Luke Perry being gay Luke Perry is sueing Meg after reading the article about him being gay Peter trying to act gay was very funny. It was hilarious when Meg and Lois were talking and you can Chris chasing Stewie with an axe in the background. It was great that Luke Perry dropped the lawsuit so Meg is no longer being sued after Peter explained everything. The ending was very funny when Luke Perry was gay after all and he is having sex with Mayor West. Overall, an excellent episode of "Family Guy". 10/10
  • This was a very funny episode about the gay life

This was a very funny episode about the gay life.

In a very hilarious week, Meg Griffin tries to make it into college at first but doesn't manage to get in, so Peter (her father) does everything he can to make his daughter happy, by getting her to college.

All about that crazy Luke Perry and how he was gay -- hell as funny. Then we had a nutty Stewie controlling Chris through all his moves, heh heh. Overall, the storylines and the laughter were pretty good, so it was a good episode. Peter Griffin rules the day basically lol. .

Meg realizes that she needs more extra cirricular activities to get into Brown university, so she gets into The newspaper, and Peter ruins it for her, by making an article saying that Luke Perry is gay.

Meanwhile, Stewie is tired of getting pushed around because he's small, so he puts a device in Chris that makes Chris say Stewie's thought, so he can finally kill Lois once and for all.

I thought this was an okay/mediocre episode. I dont remember anythiing really bad about it, but no funny parts really stick out to me. All I know is, that Stewie's plot was much funnier.

    Overall Grade: 80%/b-
  • If you want to be in journalism, don't get Peter involved.

When Meg finds herself on the school newspaper, she needs to put in a news article. Meg writes a story on Mayor West, and she doesn't stop until she got what she was looking. That's what happens when someone messes with a determine reporter. With a wit like her, what can go wrong with Meg's report. How about Peter trying to help by writing a story on Luke Perry? Well, that's what happens when Peter does just that. After writing the story, Peter puts in Meg's name and it works, kinda. When Meg finds out, Peter has some explanation to do. Meg confronts Peter, who confess to the deed because he wanted to help. However, Brian informs him the reason why Meg is angry, and Luke can sue for what Peter did because his story about Perry being gay could only be a rumor. Peter decides to prove Perry is to cheer up Meg, but Luke confront Meg. Luckily, the two learn of Peter's story and come to an augment. Leaving everyone is ask... was Peter right or what?
  • An interesting episode. Man, you gotta hate Peter sometimes!!!

This episode was an interesting one, but I did not particularly enjoy the second half of the episode.

Meg Griffin applies for Brown College, but she needs more extra-curricular activities. She gets a job on the school newspaper, and writes an awesome story about Mayor West's waste of taxpayer's money.

I was really angry when Peter replaced the story with a fictitious article about the sexuality of a celebrity, Luke Perry.

I did enjoy the scene in which Peter snuck through to replace the story, though. That was really comical!

In conclusion, this was a decent instalment to the Family Guy series and I hope it gets even better from here!
  • "Are you Sarah Connor?"

    9.4
    "Superb"
this episode reveals how manic one of my favourite characters can be: Adam West. he is absolutely insane - thinking Meg is Sarah Connor and then trying to blow her up with a bomb ala Daffy Duck. it also seems Mr West is immortal (perhaps this extends to real life as well?)

but it digress - this episode also showcases more of Meg before the Meg Bashing came in properly. Luke Perry is a great guest star - hope Family Guy has more great ones in the future. perfect flashbacks include: Peter as a ghostbuster - how funny was that? also Stewie asking the machine to Be Big (with the reply of i wish i could weigh people) was funny!
  • its fantastic and hilarious to see them rip on Luke Perry

South Park is the show known for celebrity ripping but in this episode Family Guy give it ago and its fantastic and hilarious to see them rip on Luke Perry..A visit to Brown University (Brian's alma mater) shows that Meg does not have enough extracurricular activities to be admitted, so Meg decides to write for her high school's paper. Meg's first story is an interview with Mayor West and his money-wasting investigation on water "theft." Mayor West shows Meg how the drain to his sink and his potted plants are stealing his water. Peter doesn't think that story will grab attention, so he replaces it with a story claiming Luke Perry is gay When Perry reads this article, he files a lawsuit against Meg.

Meg is deeply upset, but Peter promises to make it up to her. Trying to get Meg out of the suit, Peter tries to stage a photo of Perry acting gay through seduction, thus making the article seem valid, but Perry doesn't respond to his sexual antics (other than throwing up at one point). He finally confesses to Perry about what he did, who decides to drop all charges. Meg gets to interview Perry for a new article: "Luke Perry Is Straight, But It Didn't Do Me a Damn Bit of Good." Peter gives Perry a copy of the revised article. Perry rushes back to bed with Mayor West who says he will have sex with Perry only if he would stop stealing his water. Perry agrees, although he has no idea what Mayor West is talking about.

Meanwhile, frustrated with his short size, Stewie puts a mind control device on Chris to make him do his bidding, especially trying to kill Lois. The plan backfires when the device is shorted out by the microwave oven, causing Chris to turn on Stewie, though Stewie manages to evade him.
  • One of the funniest episode ending that I have ever seen.

It had a weak start, but by the time it got to the end iit was hilarious. Great episode.
  • A funny episode.

Who else loves this episode, this fine, fine, fine episode it really is great and great for several reasons: 1. It introduces Neil Goldman. 2. Peter does the dun-dun-dun music himself when he is sneaking into Meg's School.

    3. We see that Luke Perry and Adam West are possibly gay and they did it, at one point.

    4. A meg / Peter Story is always funny.

    5. We see Stewie at college - Hilarious!!

    6. We see Peter trying to arouse Luke Perry.

    7. It's just downright hilarious.

I like this episode, It really was funny and I liked it. If anyone didn't like it I say they have something wrong with them, but again-that's my opinion.
  • Somehow funny, but not that much...

This episode well, its partly funny and partly boring but its OK for a Family Guy and I think that this episode could have been much better if they add a few little more things, but what I think it was great was when Peter hits someone and take off his clothes for not being recognized, and later realizes what he have done and takes the clothes of someone else that are just like his, that's the funniest in this episode, well I think that this episode was OK.
  • I liked this episode. Hilarious! haha

I like all the episodes of family guy. it's a really funny show. This episode was funny, i liked that there was more of meg. Meg is one of my favorite characters. And Peter saying Luke Perry (i have a problem with spelling) was gay! WOW. I liked this episode alot is what i'm trying to say.
  • This is an OK episode.

This is a pretty good episode. Meg becomes a writer.

Meg can't get into college because she hasn't had a job yet, so she becomes a reporter. She writes a really good report on mayor West. Peter thinks it is boring, so he writes a report of his own about Luke Perry being gay. He sneaks into the school at night and switches Meg's report with his own. Luke Perry finds out and he decides to sue Meg. Peter tries to get Luke Perry to be gay and take a picture of it. He doesn't sucseed and Luke Perry finds out who he is. Peter confesses everything to Luke and he says he will drop the lawsuit, but Meg has to write the real story about him. At the end of the episode it reveals that Luke Perry really is gay.

    I give this episode a 8.8 out of 10.

Apart from Neil's voice sounding different without the retainer and Peter's disturbing attempts at seducing Luke Perry, this episode wasn't that bad with some very memorable moments such as Peter actually making suspense music while he was walking and Chris' hilarious conversation with the shopkeep under Stewie's control.

There were a few good cutaways in this episode such as Stewie missing his chance at getting the death ray and some good crazy scenes such as the stealing of the water though thankfully Meg was just a figment of Adam West's imagination.

There were a few laugh out loud moments, my favourite plot being Stewie and Chris' and is a worthwhile watch.
  • Mediocre, verging on lame.

    "Mediocre"
In essence this wasn\'t a super bad episode, but at times it seemed the writers were trying really hard to be silly purely for the sake of it without any real belly-laughs. Storylines that revolve around Meg are always going to struggle, especially when they don\'t focus on how much she sucks. The side plot of Stewie planting a control device in Chris just didn\'t cut it for me and makes me think this episode was worse than it was. Still, with a few solid gags from trusty old Peter and I was left moderately satisfied. We have all come to expect better than that though, haven\'t we?

  • Meg needs more extra-curricular activities to gain entrance to Brown University, so she becomes a reporter for the school newspaper. She writes about how Mayor West spent public money investigating "stolen water", but Peter replaces it with a "Luk

I loved the episode. The best part(s) of all were Peter's attempts to make Perry look gay.

I liked that Daffy Duck reference with Meg and that guy, too. Funny.

That thing that Peter was doing when he snuck into the school(dun dun dun dun dan dun da)to put his "Luke Perry is Gay" article on the editor's desk was great, as well.

The side-plot with Stewie being tired of being small, wants to be big, so he uses his brain to make a device to control Chris into making him do his bidding was very nice.

I loved the part with Chris getting revenge on Stewie after the control had worn off.

That story about West thinking someone was stealing his water was nice, too.

The last thing I'd like to mention is Peter beating up all those guys and taking their clothes to disguise himself with. That is very memorable.

During seducing Perry to make his article he wrote seem true, Peter takes him home, where he meets Meg. Peter explains the whole story, and Perry asks Meg to write the article.

Peter shows the "Luke Perry is Straight" article to Perry, and Perry goes back into his room with Adam West. West was with him because he wanted Perry to stop "stealing his water". So it was proved he was gay after all. (at least here, anyway.)

I personally loved the plot, the jokes, flashbacks, and references, but I just couldn't stand that whole "Peter seducing Perry" thing. Creepy.

Watch it, but if you're offended by gayness, stay away.
