  • Peter ttry to take the Don's nephew to the movie

    9.0
After the mob helps Peter with destroying his new beat up car, so he can get another new car, he must repay his debt to the mob by taking The Don's nephew, Big Fat Paulie, to the movies. Peter informs Paulie that they can't hang out anymore because of Lois, a misunderstanding that leads Paulie to believe that Peter wants Lois killed. A superb episode again. I pretty much liked all the cutaways(especailly the one with the British guy going "Oh Reginald, I disagree")in this episode. Stewie's appearance (at the beginning) was hilarious. The ending was funny as well. My score is a bit low because a couple jokes were repeated and I didn't know some of the old FG writers repeat the jokes over and over unlike the newer ones which gets annoying. Overall, besides that, enjoyable episode. 9/10moreless

-Peter thinking everyone was Big Fat Paulie

    -that cake the don ate.

-This is Big Paulie's Big Fat Ass

  • Overall superb episode of "Family Guy"

    9.0
I thought that this was a superb episode of "Family Guy". My score was just a little low because I thought it was disgusting when Big Fat Paulie sneezed on Peter's tie... that was unneeded. It was funny when Peter rode on the car and it broke down. The cutaway with Entertainment Tonight was very funny. The cutaway with Peter going to see Dr. Hartman about his growth and Dr. Hartman said "Peter, that's not a growth, that's your penis was absolutely hilarious. We also get a little bit of a Godfather reference which is pretty cool. Big Fat Paulie getting a guy to try to shoot Lois back at Meg's school play was very funny. Peter was absolutely funny in this episode. Big Fat Paulie was also a pretty funny character as well. All of the jokes were clever and really funny. It was very funny when the one favor that Peter asked for was a cake when he could have used that favor for Lois not to be killed. It was nice when Lois wasn't gonna get killed after Peter said how Lois means the world to him. Overall, despite that one gross scene that I didn't find funny, this was a superb episode of "Family Guy". 9/10moreless

It is a shame that there are a lot of new episodes of Family Guy that are rated higher than this one on this site because this is better than most, if not all, of them.

"Big Fat Paulie" was a great one-off character they created here, and it was the perfect complement to another genius Peter Griffin performance. This is when the character was still revolutionary and iconic and not just a watered down version of Homer Simpson.

And the episode itself was a good story and a good parody on mob movies. Try not saying, "On this, the day of my daughter's wedding," after watching this episode.moreless
  • Good episode, quite funny.

    9.0
This episode, 'There's Something About Paulie', was an interesting one that I recently saw. It was a pretty funny episode, and there were some very funny quotes, such as when Stewie was making his speech after realising that Lois had a hit on her.

That was a very funny moment, and I loved it when Stewie pulled that paper out of his pocket.

I thought the plot to this episode was average. It wasn't the best plot to an episode, but it certainly did provide its fair share of laughs.

I thoroughly enjoy this show and this was a good episode. Keep it up!moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When the Griffins get their new car, there is a far-away camera shot of the house, with their new car in the driveway. In the shot, the car looks like a Volkswagen Beetle, but in a closer scene, the car looks completely different. It is much more square in shape.

    • Lois points out that the red car Peter wants to buy only has a drawing of an engine, yet Peter is somehow able to make it go forward.

    • When Peter goes to meet Big Fat Paulie so they can watch the movie, he is wearing a tie. While they are in the theater, the tie disappears. When Peter and Paulie go to Peter's house for dinner, the tie is then back on Peter.

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Lois: I'm upset because you never listen to me. This is Atlantic City all over again.
(Scene switches to Lois and Peter at a Blackjack table)
      Dealer: You've got 20!
      Peter: Hit me.
      Lois: Peter, don't.
      Peter: Hit me.
      Dealer: 21!
      Peter: Hit me.
      Lois: Peter.
      Peter: Hit me.
      Dealer: That's 30
      Peter: Hit me.

    • Peter (After watching Paulie fall down after getting shot for ten seconds): Oh, my God. You all right?

    • (At the mafia's "Pet Store")
      Mafia Guy#1: I would like a "Bunny".
Mafia Guy#2: What kind of "Bunny"? A semi-automatic "Bunny", or a hand-held "Bunny"?
Mafia Guy#1: Whichever "Bunny" you think is better for shooting a guy in the head.

    • Lois: (To Peter) Did you take care of...that thing?
Peter: That thing? Oh, you mean that growth! Yeah, I had the doctor look at that. (Scene switches to Peter in the doctor's office.)
Doctor: Mr. Griffin, that isn't a growth. That's your penis.
Peter: Oh! Well, what about the uh--
      Doctor: Testicles.
Peter: (After a few seconds of silence) Huh--

    • The Don: My daughter, what is the problem you are having on this, the day of my daughter's wedding.

    • Lois: Do you mind?
Paulie: Acutally I do, you crazy broad.
Lois: I am not a crazy broad!
Peter: Oh, no no Lois, he didn't mean you're crazy like.. Elizabeth Taylor... He meant you're crazy, like.. that glue... You stick to things, you know, like an adhesive... That's all he meant.

    • Lois: Peter, this car has dents in it, and it's got a cardboard steering wheel.. And look, there's no engine! It just has a drawing of an engine!
Car salesman: But it only had one previous owner...James Bond!
      Peter: I'll take it!

    • Big Fat Paulie: Where are you going?
Peter: Uh, home. You know, for dinner.
Big Fat Paulie: Oh yeah, what are we having?
Peter: Uh, I was only supposed to go to a movie with you.
Big Fat Paulie: What's that supposed to mean?
Peter: Uh, you know, like, no neckin' (laughs).
Big Fat Paulie: So I can have dinner with you?
Peter: Uh, uh, sure. That would be much better than having a quiet dinner with my family, who I love and am not afraid of.

    • Peter: Big Fat Paulie?
Marty: (Punches Peter in the nose) My name's Marty and I'm very sensitive about my weight.
      Peter: Big Fat Paulie?
Woman: How dare you! (sprays Peter's eyes)
Peter: Are you Big Fat Paulie?
Louie: (Kicks Peter) I'm Louie Anderson.
Peter: Are you, please God, Big Fat Paulie?
Big Fat Paule: (Gives Peter noogie, spits on his tie, and pours milk down his pants) Yeah, I'm Big Fat Paulie.
Peter: Huh. Guess I've got milk (laughs). Don't shoot me!

    • Lois: I just wish my opinion mattered to you.
Peter: Well, the important thing is, it matters to you, and that's the greatest gift of all.

    • Lois: Together we can do anything: face any foe, overcome any obstacle.
Peter: Yeah, climb any mountain, rent any video, dial any phone. And not just our phone, Lois, other people's phones. Decent phones, God-fearing phones, phones that everybody else gave up on, but we knew better because we were a team!
Brian: What the hell are you talking about?

    • Car's navigation system: Turn right at fork in road. (changes to Yakov Smirnoff mode) In Soviet Russia, road forks you!

    • The Don: I have asked you here tonight so that you can perform a service
Peter: Oh, what are you gonna make me do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? Cause I'm married ya know.

    • Peter: Let's just say the car was a steal.
      Lois: Say that again.
Peter: The car was a steal.
      Lois: This time without winking.
Peter: The car was a steal.... wink.

    • Salesman: WOAH! Have you lost weight?
Peter: No, its still there, I'm just partin' it on the side.

    • Peter: Oh no Lois. A guy at work bought a car out of the paper once. Ten years later, BAM. Herpes
