  • Car trouble.

    7.0
After Carl brings home a nice car to drive in the parade, Rachel and Harriette want to take it for a spin. But Carl warns them not to do it. Later, Rachel convinces Harriette to tag along with her for a spin in the car, going against Carl's wishes. Rachel ends up crashing the car while damaging the front left corner. The two of them struggle to tell Carl, so at the point of Carl finding out, Rachel fixes the car due to the lessons and skills she learned. Overall, an okay episode that was a bit boring but decent. FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • The original cold open to this episode featured Harriette telling Eddie, Laura and Judy to wash the dishes while she gets ready to go to a PTA meeting. After the original airing of this episode the producers replaced it with a new cold open to feature Harriette and Carl sitting at the table and Steve Urkel comes with a robe on saying he was taking a bath, to make it look as if Urkel was on from the beginning. The first season DVD set uses the original version.

    • Rachel: (after crashing Carl's car) I couldn't avoid it, it came up out of nowhere!
Harriette: Rachel! You hit a tree! It came up out of nowhere a hundred years ago!

    • Laura: That was a great meal, Mom.
      Judy: Got to go!
Harriette: Hold on for a minute! Your father and I have to go to the P.T.A. meeting. I've got to leave now, you kids do the dishes.
Eddie: Well, she can't be referring to me, 'cause... I ain't no kid!
Harriette: I was referring to all of you!
Laura: I'll wash up the dishes.
      Judy: I'll dry them.

(Eddie carries a few plates on his arm and drops them on the ground)

Eddie: And I'll mop the floor.

    • (trying to distract Carl from seeing his damaged car)
Laura: Dad, wait! My tonsils hurt.
      Judy: Mine, too!
Carl: Judy, you got your tonsils out four years ago.
Judy: Oh, I mean my feet.
