Laura goes up to bowl and Eddie coughs to make her miss. Then Steve goes up to bowl. In the rules of bowling, unless you get a strike, you always have two turns. Laura didn't take her second turn.
Carl: Hi, honey. Harriette: Hi, sweetie. How was your day? Carl: Rough. I just spent two hours talking a guy off a ledge, then found out he was a window washer.
Eddie: This competition stuff is stupid. Laura: You're right, Eddie. I'm goin' to bed. Eddie: Me, too… race you upstairs!
Laura: (seductively) Hi, Steve. Steve: Hi, Laura. Laura: You know, I shouldn't be mingling with the opposition, but I just wanted to tell you how handsome you look under fluorescent lighting. Steve: Really? Laura: Yeah. And, I just wanted to wish you good luck. (Grabbing his arm) Ooh! My, what strong arms. Steve: (Dropping his bowling ball and hyperventilating) Carl: Steve? Steve? Steve: She touched me, Carl! I can't breathe! All the pins look like Laura!
Laura: He started it. Eddie: How did I start it? Laura: By being born first. You got the whole family off on the wrong foot.
Carl: You know, bowling was a great idea. I can't think of a single reason not to do this every week. (Steve enters) Steve: Hi, everybody! Carl: I just thought of a reason.
