If you look close enough to the left, notice that a curtain for the window falls in the scene where Harriette is talking to Laura on the porch.
Steve: (bumps into a post) Excuse me.
Eddie: Laura, you remember Tyrone, right? He's your date.
Laura: He's not my date!
Eddie: Sure he is! I paid him ten bucks to take you out tonight.
Laura: Excuse me? You PAID him to go out with me?
Carl: (hiding he also set Laura up) Eddie! I'm surprised at you!
(Carl tells Eddie that he set Laura up with Steve Urkel)
Eddie: Oh yeah, the mouse eater!
Carl: (confused) He eats mice?
Harriette: If Laura starts dating she'll get serious, then the boy will get serious, then they'll both get serious, and that's serious!
Carl: Harriette, will you get serious?
Steve: (to Laura) Wow, are you wearing a bra?
Steve: I have to tell you, Mr. Winslow. When my dad said you fixed me up with Laura, why, I thought I'd wet my pants!
Harriette: Judy, finish your Brussels sprouts.
Judy: Brussels sprouts make me wanna puke.
Harriette: At my table, you eat them. Now, what you do on your own time is your business.
Steve: Did I mention my dad knows Wayne Newton?
Steve: Got any cheese?
Music: "Every Little Step" by Bobby Brown
The German episode title is "Rendezvous mit drei Verehrerin", meaning "Date with Three Admirers".
The name Steve Urkel was actually borrowed from a friend of one of the producers, only he spelled his name Steve Erkel.
Jaleel White makes his first credited appearance as Steve Urkel. He originally signed on just to do a one-time guest appearance, but the producers were so pleased with the audience's reaction to his first taping - there were about 50 frat boys in the audience that were chanting, "Urkel! Urkel! Urkel!" at the end of his first scene - he returned in a recurring role which eventually turned into a starring role. He was also hastily shoehorned into some episodes already completed, but not yet aired, explaining why the Winslow don't seem to know him, though to viewers, he'd been seen a few time already. After his appearance, the show also reached the Top 20.
Jaleel White and Ebonie Smith once guest starred together on an episode of The Jeffersons entitled "Ebony and Ivory."
Rosetta LeNoire (Mother Winslow) doesn't appear in this episode, but she is credited, however.
