Continuity: In this episode, we see Carl buying the ring and cassette from Steve but in season 9, we see that Steve is proposing to Laura and states that it is the same ring he kept all these years while playing the same cassette. How is this possible if Carl bought it from him?
Steve: I have a lot of personal experience in first aid. I got a nosebleed at birth; my doctor slapped the wrong end.
Laura: Where did you get the money for this?
Steve: From my stay-away fund. Every year, my relatives send me money in hopes that I won't visit them!
Steve: Loving you is like trying to touch a star. You know you'll never reach it, but you have to keep trying.
Music: "Strangers In The Night" by Frank Sinatra in the cassette that Urkel plays for Laura in their project and that Carl and Harriette dance to in the end.
The German episode title is "Die erste Mrs. Urkel", meaning "The First Mrs. Urkel".
Both Cherie Johnson and her uncle, series producer David W. Dulcon, came from the '80s series Punky Brewster.
