If the car couldn't start, most likley, Carl couldn't have let the window up (the car obviously had power windows and not crank) and couldn't leave the interior light on in the car. Also, they said they were on a dirt road, but what dirt road is a state road?
Steve: (Carl hears humming under the couch cushions and pulls one back to reveal Steve who sits up) Party of the year Carl! Party of the year!
Judy: (Taking a picture of Eddie with party guests) Smile!
Eddie: What are you doing?
Judy: It's called blackmail!
Eddie: HEY! This is my house and I will not allow football in my kitchen.
Jock: Shut Up!
(everyone laughs)
Jock: Here's the ball.
Eddie: HEY! That's my mother's gravy boat.
Rodney: (carrying pizza) I heard Eddie was cookin', so I figured you could use some first aid.
(Holding Steve over his head)
Jock: You make me wanna puke! You know that?
Steve: By any chance, is that something you enjoy?
Steve: (Popping out of the couch) Party of the year, Carl! Party of the year!
Eddie: I guess you're gonna ground us, huh?
Harriette: Into dust!
Music: "Every Little Step" (video) by Bobby Brown
Starting with this episode the theme song "As Days Go By" slightly changes. The background music is less jazzy and softer than before. Also the end theme song also changes. It has a lot less accompanying instruments and the very end is slightly tweaked. "The Candidate" is the only episode to use the original opening/ending theme after this episode, due to being shot before this episode.
The German episode title is "Die Party des Jahres", meaning "Party of the Year".
The scene in the season 2 opening credits where Eddie, Laura and Judy open the lid of their dinner to find that it's burnt, and the scene where Eddie watches Steve dance, are both from this episode.
Guest star Tyren Perry is Jaimee Foxworth's sister.
Shawn Harrison makes his first appearance as simply a boy in a towel, which will transform to Waldo in the upcoming season.
