Steve sucks the fish out of the fish out of the vacuum tube. There's really no way on earth he could manage to suck the fish out of the tube, especially without sucking out anything else. But in the name of comedy, this one slides. It's a great scene.
(Estelle reveals Laura's boyfriend was at Makeout Mountain with another girl)
Carl: Mom, what were you doing at Makeout Mountain?
Estelle: Carl, don't change the subject.
Steve: Hey, a party. Let's get down with our bad selves!
Estelle: Laura, I wouldn't be too hard on Steve about your study partner.
Laura: Mark?
Estelle: If that's his real name.
Carl: Harriette, the boy turned my boss' fish into sushi!
Steve: (singing) Got a lady named Laura, she's mighty fine,
before the next ice age I'll make her mine!
I've got the Urkel blues, and I've got to pay dues,
got the bug collecting, constant rejection, Urkel Blues!
The German episode title is "Die Fisch-Tragödie", meaning "The Fish Tragedy".
The title of this episode is a reference to "The Man Who Came to Dinner", a play written by George Kaufman and Moss Hart, about a famous author who comes to a family's house for dinner, and winds up staying for six weeks after breaking his foot.
