All of his life, Alex P.Keaton (Michael J.Fox) has yearned for wealth and status in financial circles and so, when he is offered everybody's dream job - with a top Wall Street firm, he is over the moon and happily making plans for his future (and obviously assured) success. In fact, he is so busy getting ready for his departure that he doesn't notice that his family, particular his parents, Alyce and Steven (Meredith Baxter Birney and Michael Gross) are not ready for him to leave the nest and while very proud, are dreading the day so soon to come.
His sisters, Mallory and Jennifer (Justine Bateman and Tina Yothers) are, it would appear, more interested in measuring his room to be taken over for their own purposes than stressing about him no longer being there ... or maybe they are just bluffing? This one and the second part that follows are touchingly sad and hilariously funny at the same time. Episodes not to be missed by fans of this excellent 80s sit-com.
