Alex gets angry that Elyse let Jennifer bend the rules of Monopoly. Had he himself been so correct about the rules, he would have realized it wasn't Jennifer's turn anyway. Alex had just rolled double threes, and should have taken a second roll.
The beginning of the episode reveals that Alex keeps a photo of Nixon on his nightstand. Then, an alarm clock takes its place. But even the clock has vanished the next morning when his parents come in to wake him up.
Mallory:You should be able to study without [the pills]! Alex: Oh, I don't believe this! A lecture in study habits from the C-minus poster girl!
Alex: Did you get more pills from Effie? Mallory:Yes, Alex. I did. Alex: Great. Well, where are they? Mallory: I'm not giving them to you, Alex. You've been taking them all week and you've been acting very weird. Alex: Weird? Weird? Do you mind giving me an example of this alleged weirdness in my (twitching) - uh - recent behavior? Mallory: Alright, why the sudden interest in Jennifer's dollhouse? Alex: It's not a sudden interest at all! I've been concerned for a little while that her dolls were too cramped…so I built an annex.
Alex: (when his parents let Jennifer bend the rules in a game of Monopoly) I won't stand for this. This is a travesty! This is a sin against capitalism!
Alex: I may emerge from this week a babbling idiot. Jennifer: You're a week early.
